With respect, this enemy wasn't even a paper tiger--TISSUE paper, maybe.

Rush Limbaugh characterised them quite well: "Iraq, like most other totalitarian regimes, didn't have a REAL military. Rather, it had a gang of thugs perfectly suited to brutalizing the populace and keeping them in line, but when a REAL military force hit them, they melted away like the morning dew."

Had we been fighting a real military of a size and disposition more similar to our own, like the Red Chinese, I think things would be far different.

No doubt that we'd win--we stand head and shoulders above any fighting force in the history of mankind--but it would be a far more grim reality, closer perhaps to what we experienced in the South Pacific in WWII.

Then, our politically correct fantasy would have likely yield a grim reality.

I am smart enough and been around enough that I will never work for a woman. Life is too short for that shit.

If you are not smart enough or have not been around enough so that you are willing to work for a woman, go right ahead and be my guest. It is no skin off my nose. Have fun, sucker.

Is a "doc" a "corpsman"?

I have learned much of military parlance during this conflict, such as the fact that you NEVER call a "corpsman" a "medic."

Well, since the vast majority of those who served with were men, it follows that it is likely that the majority of single parents would ALSO be men.

This thread is about mothers in the military. But, Ok, do you deny that courts invaribly award custody to women in child custody cases? Since you have to answer "no", the next question is, why is that?

There is no military similar to our own. That's the point. Our military is so far and above superior to any other that I don't see how you can say they're "emasculated".

You would not get that impression from the article. It makes no mention of single dads. More to the point though is the fact that the vast majority of female soldiers who get pregnant take a discharge,

Ah, right. No male has ever screwed the pooch on a carrier landing. I'd forgotten that.

This "bimbo" had "the lowest night grades in the history of the FRS". She shouldn't have been flying. Like I said, I'm all for non-preferential standards, so long as those standards relate to job performance.

On the other hand, there are some damn good female pilots out there, like Capt. "K.C." who brought her shot-up, hydraulics-out A-10 back in from a mission over Baghdad a couple of days ago. Cool under fire? I'd say so.

Well, I didn't use that term.

I said that our society has lost sight of much of what has made us great, and I fear for what may portend if we keep headed down that road.

What once would have made conservatives cringe is now accepted.

Good or not, she should never have been flying a combat mission.

Sen. Mary Squires (D-Norcross) cried on the Senate floor as she related a conversation she had with her young son this morning during which he asked, "Does the governor hate black people?" He said he and his friends had been talking about the flag debate and he told his mother, "it makes me scared and it makes me sad."

Squires also told a story from when she was 4 years old. After watching television news reports of racial conflict, she said, she challenged the African-American woman who took care of her. Squires said she she immediately saw the "white freckled legs" of her mother who swiftly disciplined her for her attitude toward the woman they called "Miss Mary."

"I never forgot it," Squires said. "The emperor is naked. The governor is a racist and these freckled white legs are headed down to the second floor to teach him a lesson."

Squires and another senator, Regina Thomas (D-Savannah), spent about five minutes with Perdue in his office. When she left, Squires said the governor had "no concern over what the children of the state were seeing." She walked off, still crying.

This is how a female senator behaves, crying her fool head off.

Tell it to the guys on the ground that called for help. She accomplished the mission.

You know what? Flying combat missions is far safer than giving birth without access to modern medical facilities. Perhaps women shouldn't get pregnant either?

Two words - Ed Muskie.

I can also relate how I've seen adult male pols cry when slammed publicly about their policies.

Not exactly a convincing tale.

Nothing to do with being female, everything to do with being a democrat.

And nothing to do with women in the military.

Not only to mention that you have managed to insult every combat pilot that ever lived that got hit by something and either landed a crippled bird or had to bail out, but its also readily apparent that you haven't a clue as to what job a warthog driver has to do - fly close air support in the soup.

Oh, right, I forgot that no male pilot has ever been hit. (That same day, another A-10 (male pilot) was hit and he ejected.)

Tell me, do you work at being that stupid or does it just come naturally?
