The U.N is so inudated in America. that America is lost

The Bush administration has done an excellent job, except for Powell, with the war. The American People are in agreement. Why shift the focus on this brillant victory to the UN? Powell is not fitted for the job as sec. of state, not to say,he is not an intelligent man ,but he is not suited for this postion, We do not need to go to the UN.

I read another article after this one that said just the opposite, that Bush has no intention of going to the UN. I don't always trust the misinformation regarding the rift between Colin Powell and Bush.

Never the less ,it was Powell who made the mistake by going to the UN.A BIG mistake, I hope Bush has learned a valuable lesson.

I hope so too, that's the reason that I hesitate to believe this story. I can't believe that Bush would fall for that twice.

The Bush administration has done an excellent job, except for Powell, with the war.How can you say he's done a bad job when we've achieved the ultimate outcome desired - Saddam and his regime are gone. Iraq is liberated. You remind me of the naysayers that critcized the war plan and still say - even though we won the war in just a few weeks - that it was a bad war plan.
We do not need to go to the UN.
Well according to Wolfowitz, we need UN endorsement in order to receive $$ from the IMF and World Bank. Is he wrong too? And when did Powell ever say the UN would be responsible for creating the interim government or taking over for the coalition post-war? I missed that one.

Never the less ,it was Powell who made the mistake by going to the UN.A BIG mistake, I hope Bush has learned a valuable lesson.Again, I ask why was it a big mistake? Saddam and his regime are gone. The French, Russians and Germans have been outed for the weasles they really are. The American public is finally seeing the UN for what it really is, basically nothing more than a debating society, and when the Administration gets done it will be nothing more than a relief agency. Had we never gone to the UN in the first place can you honestly say the majority of the American public would have supported the war? Unless, public support doesn't matter?

You seem to trust Powell, more than I do. Powell isn't the President, doesn't run the country. I trust the President to make the right decisions. I'm just trying to give Powell a break because I think some on the conservative side are being unfairly harsh. He serves at the pleasure of the President, and if the President didn't think he was doing his job, he'd ask him to leave. I trust the President's judgement. We all should - he's smarter than any of us on this board.

I absolutely agree with you on this.

I too trust our President. What I was trying to convey was because the UN is so unless, why give anyone on the left more fuel for the fire. Bush should be praised now, instead reporters ask why the chaos in Iraq anyway to shift attention to the negative they will, and the public falls for it. I just want George to win big in 2004.
