Two other young Singaporean women who travelled to Hong Kong with Ms Mok also developed Sars after contact with the Chinese doctor at the Metropole hotel believed to have brought the infection from China. So, was the Chinese doctor was ill from it or did he intentionally infect them?

The merest possibility that someone could be quarantined for a contagious disease is the surest sign that a people has ceased to be free. Jackbooted thugs rely on such "emergencies" to put down the true patriots.
Life is a risk, and every day you go out in public, you should realize you expose yourself to possible disease, and are responsible only to yourself to not do the things necessary to get those diseases.

We should have quarantined AIDS patients long ago.

Bet she took lots of aspirin or some related NSAID. To survive, or to have been so contagious?

You think that, for every disease, there are things you can do that will guarantee you will not get it?

And I'll know they were sacrificed on the altar of uninterupted global commerce...

New Pro Med Update which has some good information, there is a pdf from the New England Journal Of Medicine that looks interesting as well as what looks like a break down of where Canada's patients are at this point.

(It's a sarcastic sendup on paleocon/paleolibs - no flames!) Ya know, CP, if the poster had been anyone but you, I'd have flamed away at the opening sentence. Having seen your stuff before, I knew I had to read the whole thing to get to the punch line.
You really need to put a blinker or something on that tag line.

That's a good name for my first wife.

That's what I get for trying to be sarcastic and even putting the clue in the tagline..... The problem is tagline abuse, dammit, tagline abuse. Nobody reads them anymore, since most are dumb.
They were cool back in the olden days when taglines were supposed to be for email addresses (like anyone would do that now) and they were abused by some of us rebels without a clue.

Taking aspirin has been shown to spread the common cold virus...somehow it increases the virulence in the mucus.
