Just turned it on. Sounds quiet.

How you perceive things is your choice. I have seen it in many contexts many times. It seems to me to be; 1. A part of networking which FReepers do quite well. and 2. A way to exchange thoughts and info. that would otherwise not be relevant or appropriate to the open forum. JMHO

That was one of yours...by the way, wasn't that you a few freepers chatted with you about your job interview today?
I think they all pretty much wished you luck! ;)

The RealPlayer feed is clear but the Media Player feed is a little blurry.

it would supply the country fox six months if all other sources of our oil were ZERO. How likely is that to happen? How are you going to distribute hydrogen? you can't. fuel cells are good, but everyone knows the only practical ones maintain the reformer on board. so you have to get some hydrocarbon fuel into them so they can make hyrdrogen. gasoline and alcohol are still part of the fuel cell solution for cars, natural gas production would be essential for home based fuel cell units.
that said, if the "new iraq" pumps oil like crazy, we don't need anwr.
To: Consort
these must be peacenick protesters. They must be doing it to push tension in military families. Plant the seed of tension. Military families must know they get a personal visit not a phone call.

Why is it people come in here to complain? They obviously have internet access. Why don't they go to Drudge or NRO or FoxNews or any of hundreds if not thousands of sources for the news they desparately need? I'll tell you why. Because we GOT HERE / found this EXACT THREAD via our internet access. I was doing Google searches for a particular war news story (maybe POWs or something), and one of the top 3-4 hits for my search was THIS EXACT THREAD. Not the website home page, but this thread. I liked what I read, because it was pertinent, so I STAYED HERE, even though I continued to explore all those other sites you mentioned. I have over 50 war-related websites bookmarked. But I like this one the BEST. I had no idea there were OTHER resources on the FR website that were more exclusively news; not until a Freeper told me about it. Once I found those news-only resources, I had everything I needed - news AND witty repartee'. (sp?)

I spoke down???
pardon me, but I think you are having some serious inabilities to correctly read a post. I have had enough of your negativity for this evening and refuse to feed into you any longer. Considering you are here, and not elsewhere, then you obviously are thriving on attempting to cause conflict.
I bid you good day. that's a one-two-zero
out.

I'm a Geologist. I thought you worked in hazardous materials, earlier...
Okay, while I might not agree with your assessment of ANWR's potential (I'm in O&G, too, as a minority RO and recovering lawyer from west Texas :-), I agree with your point: ANWR in the ground is money in the bank; we should keep getting all the cheap ME oil we can, as long as it holds out and stays cheap. I'd hate to see the Leg try to foreclose future development, though.

Yes, but what if a young child answers?

Noble monuments erected to celebrate noble ideals seems to be a part of Western thought which reflects the attitude that Mankind is continually striving (in so imperfect ways), to perfect a spiritual ideal within men themselves. This seems to be related to common religious views. I am too ignorant of Eastern thought to venture any explanation for the contrast. Ignorance has many consequences.

Its also not the same when you can't comment on the stupidity or make a point about a particular part of a news piece. My name is X and I am a Freerepublic addict.
To: BagCamAddict
I understand how you found this thread. Are you telling me that after you registered you NEVER SAW the front page of this site? The one with all the headings like "latest Posts," "Latest News," and "Latest Articles?" That is the page you had to go to to LOG ON!!

I followed a link from another site to get here..and it took me to this thread first
I registered right away and started posting, so I did see the first page, but had I simply lurked, I would have never known about the rest of FR

Last I heard ANWR has a capacity much greater than 6 months, more like 20 years. I happen to live a couple hundred miles south of it.
About Rick at the construction site talking about the truck the squad shot up with a .50 and M16's, chok full of holes, and its a suspected bioweapond transport?
And he is standing NEXT to it?
