My understanding is that they bury any fleas that they kill during basic training.

Well, when I read military history of wars in the last 100 years, it seems the Marines are always kicking butt, whereas the Army is often kicking butt.

I like the Marine Bumper Sticker, "Heaven won't take us and Hell's afraid we'll take over." I am a real wuzzie USAF 72-76 the sensitive side of the military.

According to Jane's Fighting Armies, the Marines are the largest Special Ops force in the world.

Anyone who serves in any of this great country's military branches is OK in my book.

What's up with the US Flag patch on the Army uniform. I was always taught that the field of stars was to be on the upper left side and all the patchs look like they are displaying the flag backwards. Evidently is ok, but looks dumb to me.

One of the reasons I joined the Marines was because I knew they had a reputation of not leaving anyone behind. I am here today beacuse a Navy Corpsman kept me alive while a Marine Corps chopper saved my life. You can have no better friend and no worse enemy than a Marine. Semper Fi

(There was a reason I enlisted in the *Army* -- wanted it easier than the Marine Corps.)

Sorta' the same with me, but I went Navy 'cause I hate being wet and muddy...obviously not SEAL material!

Union is forward on a moving vehicle.

That means US soldiers do not retreat.

The flag is positioned as it would look like when advancing (ie, the stars are always to the front of the soldier). When on the right sleeve, the stars are on the right
