Operation Iraqi Freedom
This thread is dedicated to the brave men and women of the
Armed Forces of the United States of America.
"Wish You Were Here"
For all the free people that still protest.
You're welcome. We protect you and you are protected by the best.
Your voice is strong and loud,
but who will fight for you? No one standing in your crowd.
We are your fathers, brothers, and sons,
wearing the boots and carrying guns.
We are the ones that leave all we own,
to make sure your future is carved in stone.
We are the ones who fight and die,
We might not be able to save the world, Well, at least we try.
We walked the paths to where we are at
and we want no choice other than that.
so when you rally your group to complain,
take a look in the back of your brain.
In order for that flag you love to fly
wars must be fought and young men must die.
We came here to fight for the ones we hold dear.
If that's not respected, we would rather stay here.
So please stop yelling, put down your signs,
and pray for those behind enemy lines.
When the conflict is over and all is well,
be thankful that we chose to go through hell.
Corporal Joshua Miles and all the boys from 3rd Battalion 2nd Marines,
Kuwait 3/9/2003

Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - Situation Room - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A brief description of what the graphic is would help! If you post graphics, please "size" them so that our browsers continue to load the rest of the thread!

We will reverently honor and remember our fallen heroes. OTOH the people of Iraq will forevermore curse the name of Saddam Hussein and his satanic fellow travelers.

It'll be most cool if the Iraqi people take the statue on their own, with no help from coalition equipment, material, or personnel.

Jim Mik can (never mind), (^;
MSNBC, not CNN...it was still a great quote.
David Chater without his minder on FN is doing a fine job....interviewing our soldiers, showing the Iraqi people throwing stones at Saddam's statue.

Isn't it odd that after all this time, the sure sign of our greatest success and freedom for the Iraqis is coming at the very place we've been staring at for 3 weeks.

I wish FoxNews would replay a still shot of the big red truck with the Iraqi driver with "Mr. Bush and Mr. Blair Good Good Very Good" painted on the door! But I guess there won't be a break in the action for a while for a still shot... LOVING IT!!!!

Morning, Prairie. I'm debating the merits of calling in sick today... I'm sure I can will myself into a migraine if I try!
