Wow, that was such a stupid question even the reporters laughed. "How do you make the love remain?" -- "I'm feeling a lot of love in here already..." ;-)

OMG.....reporter asks Brooks if the dancing in the street is because "they fear you, or they love you," and if it's the love, how will we keep them "loving you?"
OMG>>>>>>>>>FEELINGS...........in a PRESS CONFERENCE!
Brooks handles it well: "I feel a lot of love in this room..."

Hey, YOU IDIOT PRESS "people"!!! All of this "loot" was bought with THEIR money that was suppose to buy them FOOD!!! I can't blame them for "looting"!
Why weren't you reporting this kind of LOOTING when the Clintons were STEALING property from the White House? I am sick of these so-called "reporters".
They MUST trash every report with "looting". We can't have the Iraqi people CELEBRATING the END to a MONSTER without putting in the "looting".
Hundreds of Iraqis cheered U.S. troops in Saddam City, a poor neighborhood in northeast Baghdad. One shouted, "Thank you, thank you, Mr. Bush!" One group of Iraqis held up a portrait of Saddam Hussein and smashed it, calling him a "criminal."
COALITION FORCES IN STRUGGLE FOR LAW AND ORDER
12:12 - 09 April 2003
Desperate Iraqis swarmed tanker trucks distributing water in Basra yesterday, as British forces turned their attention to restoring order in Iraq's second-largest city but were unable to quell heavy looting on the streets.
Meanwhile, further north, US forces were tightening their grip around Baghdad while facing criticism after assaults that killed three foreign journalists.
In Basra, young men cruised the streets in trucks, pick-ups and even bicycles, grabbing what they could - ceiling fans, mattresses, car seats, furniture, even slabs of wood.
Hordes of people also picked through the wreckage of universities and government buildings damaged by coalition bombing.

Yes, never forget the traditional "Dance of Fear" (?) seen in every "occupied" (?) city. (2+2 = "They're dancing out of fear", apparently)

The remarkable thing about sanctions is the whole "waiting for the sanctions to bite" mantra from 1990 was completely forgotten (along with a lot of things about 1990) in the run up to this war.
There literally were legions of people and newspaper editorial after editorial advocating waiting a YEAR (or more) for the "Sanctions" to "bite" and cause Hussein to simply withdraw from Kuwait because of the "pain."
To: Timeout
I said a lot, none of it printable on this thread unless Jim has lifted the ban on profanity for the duration of the war.
