Yes, Chater said they (the reporters) were still under control of the "Iraqi Government" at the begining of the live interview.
Meanwhile AlJazeera's Baghdad correspondent Majed Abdel Hadi called the U.S. missile strike and Ayoub's death a "crime."""I will not be objective about this because we have been dragged into this conflict," he said, visibly upset. "We were targeted because the Americans don't want the world to see the crimes they are committing against the Iraqi people."

I wasn't sure if explosions were shaking them as well

Centcom HARDENING its statement about snipers IN THE PALESTINE HOTEL.

"We were targeted because the Americans don't want the world to see the crimes they are committing against the Iraqi people."Lovely. The next few days are going to be rough. I wouldn't be surprised if Qatar or another arab country would no longer let us operate from their country. Qatar does own Al-Jazeera by the way.

Wondering about the webcam... Supposedly, it is at the Palestine hotel, right? So how come we haven't seen any tanks clamber by here? Further, how come traffic has been normal all day when a tank battle is taking place just a block closer to the river?

Thank you. That is close enough. Two things.
1. I don't know what the max elevation is on the main gun, and,
2. The picture of damage since I asked the questions is not heavy enough to be from a 105 main gun.

"We were targeted because the Americans don't want the world to see the crimes they are committing against the Iraqi people."Lord Haw-Haw was EXECUTED for broadcasting anti-allied propaganda during WWII. I think this statement from Al-Jazeera makes them absolute, unquestionable, 100% IRAQI MILITARY TARGETS. Take them out. Take them out in Baghdad, in Qatar, everywhere.

no way a 120mm shell could physically cause that little damage. I was thinking the same thing. Even ignoring the lack of damage, if it was HEAT there should be a lot more "black" from the blast, and a sabot wouldn't have left the slight damage on the outside, if it was a square hit.
I was thinking 25mm. Did we get any Bradley's across the bridge?

RPGII, RPG III or ILERPG??

I think we're securing the bridge crossings before going across that circle en masse.

Alert Sky News showing looting and fires in Basara. UK Basara not secured yet. Tribal Leader to help form Basara government. Local "Shiek" will form his own commitee. No violence against Coalition forces but against old regime buildings.
Watch so we don't get blamed for the damage being done now by mobs.

Strategy Page reports...
Iraqi TV finally went off the air. Before doing so, it
didn't broadcast it's usual morning news show, but
instead played taped propaganda videos. Apparently today's
U.S. raid caused the TV news production staff to flee.
Later, government radio went off the air as well.
Satellite transmitters for two non-Iraqi Arab satellite
news networks (including al Jazeera) were bombed as well.
So I guess Al Jazeera attack was intentional.
