Can you really `support the troops' while opposing the war?

Well, I was convinced he had them, but was disappointed when we didn't (and still haven't) find any. Now I'm not so sure. Right. But you understand the point was that he either had to show them to us or show what he'd done with them. He did neither.
Whether we find them or not is irrelevant, and in the scheme of things, is more troubling.

The more polite way to act in these matters would be to declare that one supports our military in their course of duty as an American and my prior reservations have been noted.
Which is precisely how I felt about Bosnia/Kosovo/Haiti/and Somolia after Clinton turned it into nation building after it started out as humanitarian.
If a war is being lost or is being mismanaged poorly after some time, then it is reasonable to voice support for bringing troops home and to ask that they stop dying for a lost cause.
That is much different than what is happening now....they are just throwing out the canard of "support the troops" to cover their asses...in fact nearly all these folks loathe the military(and America) and it's exercise of power under any circumstances.

You are correct. It was amusing to hear.. um... Sean Hannity yesterday talking to one of the Oakland, CA crowd. Th guy had no idea what was in those shipments he was trying to block -- could have been food, medicine, whatever.

So terrorist training grounds exist...in Iraq... Yes. And it seems to be Al Qaeda because the people trained there were not just Iraqis, they were from all over the Arab world.
