White Flags Over BasraTHREE divisions of the Iraqi army in Basra yesterday made a desperate attempt to wave the white flag of surrender.

I'm not tired of it yet and I've been watching it off and on since 7:00 A.M. EDT. (The TV is behind me so it doesn't distract me from freeping.)
I just caught back up after being off for 3 hours studying.

Re: Josh, the journalist on Fox defending his criticism of the current military plan.
Did you notice that when Tony read Josh's article back to him that instead of defending his writing, he defended Clinton? How embarrassing for him.

Pfc Jessica Lynch and Pfc. Lori Piestewa (KIA)Oh, my.....such happier days for the two of them.
The pain the families of all the KIAs must be feeling--it's got to be hell.
To: two23
Tears.....how very sad; Lori's children now without their mother.....my heart breaks for them, and all the families who have lost their brave loved ones.....I'm so very sad.

THREE divisions of the Iraqi army in Basra yesterday made a desperate attempt to wave the white flag of surrender.Ya know, I keep thinking of these Japanese soldiers who hid out on Pacific islands for 10, 20, 30 years after WWII was over. The fedayeen are going to be like that.

Embedded Clintonistas! Yikes!
I don't know about anyone else, but I think the next election will be really nasty, because the democrats are already hysterical.

I read some where that PFC Lynch and PFC Piestewa (KIA) were friends a roommates. Another sad story amongst the volumes of tragedies and sacrifices in this war. Let's hope it all ends swiftly.

I don't care if this is true, it's too funny not to pass on.
To nobody's surprise there were protesters today in DC, they attempted
to disrupt the metro system and block the Key Bridge, a leading artery
into DC from Northern Virginia. I got hosed twice because I come in
from Northern VA on the metro and it is raining hard which makes
traffic worse anyway. My commute was long and arduous and only caused
further resentment for protesters (but that isn't the point of this story). Anyway, I'll get to the point.
I got off the train in Rosslyn because I had to use the bathroom and the
train was moving quite slowly. When I was getting back on the train,
there were protesters on the train platform handing out pamphlets on the
evils of America. I politely declined to take one. An elderly woman
was behind me getting off the escalator and a young (20ish) female protester offered her a pamphlet, which she politely declined. The young protester put her hand on the old woman's shoulder as a gesture of friendship and in a very soft voice said, "Ma'am, don't you care about the children of Iraq?" The old woman looked up at her and said, "Honey, my first husband died in France during World War II so you could have the right to stand here and bad mouth your country. And if you touch me again, I'll stick this umbrella up your ass and open it."
I'm glad to report that loud applause broke out among the onlookers and
the young protester was at a total loss for words.

I keep thinking of these Japanese soldiers who hid out on Pacific islands for 10, 20, 30 years after WWII was over. You're probably right....I hadn't thought about that...but, there probably will be many Iraqis hiding for months after we've gotten rid of Saddam and his ilk.

"We're not softening 'em up, we're killing 'em."Your right, nice to see "PC" thrown to wind.

The reporters remaining in Baghdad, mostly from Europe are very curious. A German reporter asked about whether he believed that the Iraqis or the Coalition forces occupied the Baghdad Airport stated that he remained neutral because he was no more convinced of the reliability of the Iraqis than the US. He states this even though the entire worlds media including european media from actual present at the airport is stating that the US is in possession of the Airport. The media remaining in Baghdad, are all Peter Arnetts and are Iraqi supporters. They do not want to believe that the Iraqi Propaganda Minister is lieing to them. The remaining media types in Baghdad are merely shills for Saddam.

Seminoles' flag says In God We Trust and they let the sports teams use their name? Wow. More proof that resistance is not futile.

They're good people, the Seminole indians, I visited their reservation in the everglades, very interesting, they're masters at survival skills, they give seminars on it to campers, hikers, and military people
Oh boy! Tony says we'll get to see the "exclusive footage" again... and again... and again...

Thanks so much! Good link!
The kids looked happy to see our soldiers, I guess I should have taken it at face value. But I'm glad I didn't because I was glad to have my "knowledge" debunked in your link.

You're probably right....I hadn't thought about that...but, there probably will be many Iraqis hiding for months after we've gotten rid of Saddam and his ilk. From the reports coming in, the fedayeen are at least half non-Iraqi (Bob Arnott reported this today)--they're coming in from Syria and Jordan (probably Palestinians, probably Hamas and Hezbollah), Sudan, Egypt and other countries with large Sunni populations--and a possibility some are al Qaeda or with al Qaeda affiliated groups. Arnott reported these were the fiercest fighters, probably because they aren't from Iraq, have no place to go home to and define natural born killers.
