Right now there's lull in the news coverage, we've been off topic alot since the war bagan, but we get back on when something happens. Believe me, Kerry is mush more related than our discussion of the whisk

and [Algore would] probably give saddam a key to the little locked box he has, with the secrets of the internet inside.
Sorry for delay in response....I've been offline since this a.m. You're both right, of course....I forgot about that locked box....and Martin Sheen would be Algore's idol! : )

Snappy retort noted. Still not an answer. Someone dropped the ball. Maybe. But if so, then it was when someone could have stood up at the podium after the microphone check and says "The Lynch's have not been informed of the KIA status of the other members of Pvt. Lynch's convoy. They have obviously had enough to worry about regarding their own daughter, so please respect that and DO NOT ask questions regarding the other KIAs."
(And then we'd have bitc*ing and moaning about freedom of the press, etc.)

Been making my coffee in those for years.
Make sure you have a grinder. You need a coarser grind than for drip percolators.

I have to agree with you. Since it was known that the family was getting in front of the press, it seems they should have been prepped for the situation.
What advantage was there in not sharing the info about the 507th with the family? None, that I can see.

Just read the news about Pvt. Lynch and her rescue a ways back on this thread. The part where she takes the soldier's hand and says, "please don't leave me"......man oh man...how can you read that without losing it?
To: prairiebreeze
I doubt it occured to anyone (even the person asking the question) that they didn't know.
To: Catspaw
this thread is always kind of free-form, free-flowing....no one seems to mind....if you wish, I can always devote a few comments to Belly Girl......

This is an even better approach. To inform the media. Somehow the ball got dropped here by somebody it seems.

LOL....best line of the day, so far....

Indeed. But can someone with knowledge tell me whether or not the Army assigns a liason officer who should have informed them of this BEFORE they appeared before the kennel. It's the third time you want to blame the Army for the reporter asking the question. Why don't you contact the Department of Defense and ask Donald Rumsfeld, Gen. Richard Myers or Torie Clark?
To: Dawgmeister
Yes it is.
To: Catspaw
WOW lots of explosions on the Bagcam!
To: debg
and now either live or video of a huge glowing, burning site off in the distance.

The really stupid thing is that before they showed up, some guy was briefing the press. He said that while the Lynch family had TV on in their home, there was a lot they were unaware of. He did not go into any specifics, so I guess I will blame him; whoever HE was.

To me, the point isn't whether the family knew or didn't know.
The point should be that the question was totally inappropriate and should never have been asked to begin with.
Let's suppose that the family did know. Does anyone here think her family's response would have been much different than it was? The implication behind the question seemed to me to be asking how can you be so elated when there were 8 confirmed KIA's announced that were part of her unit. Now, it takes some kind of *ss*ole to even want to pose that question.
