Very first question was something about how do they feel, and oh by the way the other 9 bodies, 8 were from her unit. Apparently her dad didn't know that and it upset him very much. The family was led away from podium then someone came up to mic and said the press conference is cancelled.

In his case, no....if you're really curious, you can probably do a google search, or a phone book search, in WV for all things named Byrd....it's really obscene....
To: Mo1
Yeah, that was REEAAAAL smooth by the press.

And what's really sick is that reporter probably walks away feeling like he scored the biggest sound bites of the day -- like he made the slam dunk that wins the game at the NBA Championships.

Thank heavens I missed that...I saw the father upset getting on the plane. I call the reporter a Vulture feeding on pain and tragedy.

My God, My God, why did they ask her dad that question? Did they want to destroy him? B*ASTARDS.

FN: Lt. Gen. Michael Mosely (sp), Air Commander re. the RG around Baghdad: "We're not softening 'em up, we're killing 'em." Hah.
CENTCOM's Maj. Gen. Renuart didn't volunteer the # of sorties this morn, but when a reporter asked, he said they flew around 3000 in 24 hours...1500 in other parts of Iraq.
Those remaining ~ 1500 were reserved for Baghdad, I guess, as the ground forces arrived....500 more than the usual daily ~1000 sorties flown over all of Iraq. Booms.

Does anyone besides me feel that we're saving Tikrit for last.....like we know something...it's the only city that hasn't been touched.....it's Saddam's crib....yet we're ignoring it so far.....maybe MOAB will make its debut there?

Don't forget Georgia. When I was in the Navy, the Georgia boys would skip Thanksgiving dinner to watch Alabama/Auburn.
