I usually don't pass on fw: emails but I passed on that one - it was just too darn funny! The fact that peace-dude wouldn't know what to do if someone punched him in the nose just supports the theme of the email.

Well, Race - I hadn't seen the bottom two pictures. These people make me sick.

The 'money quote' of the joke is something to the effect that punching a pacifist in the nose forces him to face the absurdity of his position: a reasonable person defends himself, while the pacifist fool keeps accepting punches to the nose, while trying to figure out what he'd done to make his attacker angry. Similarly, [at least in the copy that was sent to me], the USA is being entirely reasonable in bombing the daylights out of the Taliban, Al Qaeda, Saddam, [and maybe France, eventually], instead of apologizing and asking foregiveness for being infidels...

I wan't alive during the Vietnam era, but heard about it from my parents. I now know why they warned me about these people. I didn't know my contempt for a group of people could grow so much every day - even when i had nothing but contempt for them before - as it does for these "peace" protestors.

"I'm a pacifist," Hirschi said. "But if somebody punched me in the nose, I don't know what I'd do."

Well from reading your response, I can tell you that you're already on a higher level on intelligence that most of these people.
I am fully understanding of what "moderate" means, and the fact that you've stated you'd "drop him like a stone" means I don't think you are a "raving hippie".
In addition to this, there's the fact that you've taken the time to give your opinions means you're willing to speak rationally about the issues.

Then, "in the middle of their remarks, without any warning, punch them in the nose . . . Hit them again [and] repeat until the desired results are obtained and the idiot realizes how stupid of an argument he/she is making." That elipsis leaves out a lot.

"Most anti-war protestors have such thin skins." And like liberals in general, no sense of humor.

LOL. Awesome program! You probably will need to continuously update the program, because, just like a bacteria, the peaceniks' humorless system after awhile will develop immunity to the anti-stuffiness Humorsense '95 plug-in.

In my experience, the Vietnam protesters were misguided idealists. While some of the current crop may be as well, from what I have seen, the vast majority of them are not. During Vietnam, peace was the earmark of the demonstrations. I never saw angry outbursts or verbal or physical assaults on those with a different point of view. The present band of renegade reprobates have proven to be both hostile and volatile, not a good combination. Also, the Vietnam era protests were not (to my knowledge) financed by powerful external interests with a political agenda aimed at bringing down the United States. People who took part in the demonstrations and marches did so out of their own consciences and for the most part were motivated by the genuine belief that violence was never justified.

Rick Chase, who opposes war in Iraq and has participated in anti-war rallies, doesn't see any humor.Truer words were never spoken.

Hadn't seen that either. Ugh.

Sorry ... this won't fly - Howell would have been required to email the statement directly to the protestor in order for it to be considered "inciting violence" against the guy. Useful idiot!
