"Rush was NOT attacking Lynch! He read some e-mails from people that were and he defended her."
I stand corrected. As I said, I was not listening to Rush.

Give me twenty men and women with PFC Lynch's grit and determination, and I'll pull off regime change in Damascus, Teheran, Riyadh, Karachi, and Beijing! You're right about that! I'm happy she's been rescued by some very brave members of the Armed Forces, but that's tempered with the knowledge that the bodies of at least nine members of our Armed Forces were found buried at that "hospital." As it is, she's just recovering from surgery. She's in no position to defend herself or protect herself from an assault by the press.
And the press will not hold back from trying to exploit Pfc. Lynch and her family, and I doubt if her family is equipped with the wherewithal to stop the press from rolling over them like a steamroller.

Main Entry: lynch
Pronunciation: 'linch
Function: transitive verb
Etymology: lynch law
Date: 1836
(1) to put to death (as by hanging) by mob action without legal sanction
(2) to put several members of a mob to death (as by emptying a 30-round clip of an M16) by heroic military action undertaken in accordance with the international law of war

Look, Rita Cosby from Fox News was on the phone with her family about five minutes after CENTCOM announced she had been rescued, and I'm sure that was followed by a flood of calls to her family. In fact, her family was getting so many calls that when Pfc. Lynch tried to call home, she couldn't get through. She ended up calling her grandmother who relayed the message to her family to get off the phone.
The press can be jackals. In this instance, no matter how fascinating the story, I wish they'd back off.

thank God she's saved. She's probably getting the best medical care in the world.

"It's the Lynch blood," Brandi said
Isn't that a Scot-Irish name? Were they not renowned for their spirit in battle? More recently here ancestors were shooting Feds looking for and destroying stills. They were great shots too!

WHAT? I listened to Rush and he had only the highest praise for Private Lynch.

Oooh, I've been thinking I haven't seen a good ZOT lately. I'm beginning to miss the Viking Kittens, who would be appropriate to our new hero, Jessica.

Yes, Rush was reading emails. But they were in response to something he said yesterday that minimized the experiences of PFC Lynch. I rarely get a chance to hear his program since it comes on during working hours here in L.A. But I was late today and happened to catch that bit of the program. He WAS using her experience to rant about women's place in the military especially in combat and to rant about feminists. It's true I don't know the entire context in which he was placing the experience of Ms. Lynch, but let's just say that it was not Rush's finest hour by any means.
