Loosing an Airfield is like loosing farmland. Once you loose it you never get it back. In the land of the free and the brave for Daley to do this while the war is on and he thinks no one is looking is sinful.
To: taildragger
So does this land revert back to the crooked "Park District Friends of the Lakefront," now? First they start turning Soldier Field into an UFO and now they get rid of Meigs Field.
To: taildragger
Can you imagine an emergency landing right after the runway got destroyed?
Whoever had survived the souls on the airplane would pretty much OWN the city of Chicago by the time the lawsuits wound down.

CR, I don't know, I don't know Chicago Politics.

I'm glad I moved. The immigrants, mostly illegal, can have the place.

before midnight on Sunday, workers with construction equipment arrived at Meigs escorted by Chicago police and carved out large, X-shaped portions of concrete out of the center of the runway.Only weasels pull this crap in the middle of the night.

Facedown, I don't know if I'd call it that but, It is Clintonian and Reno-nian. Just grabbing power and doing what the hell they want.

"Zoom" can get over the top sometimes, but I am with him on this one.

Remember flying into the Sears tower? Those were the days. Yeah... maybe they're doing this because they're afraid the computer simulator will give terrorists ideas, LOL...
