An insult to Riefenstahl! Her "documenteries" actually were beautifully and skillfully crafted. Propaganda, yes, but they stand up in quality to many of the best films in history. Moore can't even make an entertaining or enchanting film, just pseudo-witty schlock.

As repugnant as she is, she actually has a technical mastery of her craft. Moore is just a hack with minimal technical skill.

I've not seen "Triumph of the Will" but "Olympiad" is an accurate record of the Berlin Olympics. If Michael Moore had made "Olympiad," it would have shown all the runners lined up at the begining of the race and then cut to footage of another race to make it look like Jesse Owens lost.

Correctly or incorrectly, Riefenstahl's propaganda for Hitler has always been considered "from the right" historically. This, from the same crowd that considers fascism a right-wing phenomenon, instead of left-wing (which it surely is). Perhaps it would have been more accurate to call Moore "America's Leni Riefenstahl," although that would give him unearned prestige by comparison.
