Cut Drudge slack for giving Arnett so much PR in the last 24-36 hours? I don't think so. And he did the same with that crap about Madona and her video. Sometimes Matt goes out of his way to rub our noses in it.

drudge is not free republic. good. we already have f.r.

and by covering things like arnett and the madonna video, he points those things out to people. was your heart and mind won over by the madonna coverage? i didn't think so. and the fact that he made a big noise about it actually may well have caused people to stop and wonder why, and conclude that maybe there was something wrong with it. neither madonna nor arnett benefits from hits on drudge.

Yeah because darn, I always find myself getting on the state-controlled TV station of the enemy and telling that that resistance is giving fuel to the anti-war segment and that the war plan has failed.

Jennings at least has the cover that he is not going on Iraq's state TV and saying what he does.

That's the difference. Heck Hanoi Jane could have said a lot of things, but when she went on NVA radio condemning American troops as war criminals, guess what? she became a traitor.

Bullspit.

It is not censoring to hold people accountable for their actions. If one actively participates in enemy propaganda, it would be derelict of the public to not reject him as completely as possible. He should become radioactive for any position that relies on doing business with the public.

Maybe with all his vast network reporting expertise he can get a job at Al-Jazeera.

Someone over at that other web forum suggested that this would be a great opportunity for Al Jazeera to snag Arnett. What a laugh.

It kind of reminds me of the 2nd season of the Sopranos when Big Pussy started to think he was a Junior G-Man when he was ratting for the Feds. How soon he learned how wrong he was. Let's hope Arnett meets the same end.

"During Desert Storm he was fired by CNN."

You know he's bad if he is unAmerican enough to get fired by CNN for it!

YES!!!! HAHAHA. That's the best decision for damage control by those corporations, however, if they had any sense, they would knock some sense into the rest of their news corps, I hope MSNBC/ABC/NBC/CNN/CBS news ratings stay in the toilet, until they make major changes (I'm not holding my breath on that one)

Pete was nearly in tears while Matthew Lauer interviewed him this morning. There was Petey, standing in front of a mosque in Baghdad feeling sorry for himself, asking his employers, his mommy and the American people to forgive him for being a traitor. It's a little late, Petey. Go away. I'm sure you can find a job in Hollywood, it's full of your type of folk.

So much better than NBC;s reply last night. Arnett may want to look for a little apartment to live in Baghdad. He's not welcome in the US>

The finale solution to the Peter Problem!

Iraq official:
Mr. Arnett, thanks, but now that you are no longer any help for us, we have a brand new shredder that you can try out.

we're not putting up with this anti-American bullshit anymore.

Yes, but what does this mean besides railing against the press when it fails to support our military commitments? I think I have an answer. We must never forget the mistakes we made in concluding the Viet Nam war.

  1. Once America starts a war, we must honor those who fell and their families by finishing it with whatever force is required. I wouldn't have supported Gulf War II if I weren't sure that we should do this -- no matter how wide the conflict widens.
  2. Soldiers must be assured that hateful protesters they may meet on their journeys home from battle are not representative of the nation's sentiments.
  3. Our veterans must always get the care they need after a war.
I will do everything I can to elect future administrations who understand these rules.

I don't think Arnett should be fired.

I completely agree. Treasonous bastard should be hung from the neck until dead.

If his comments aren't treason, the word has no meaning.

Not going to flame you.

As the media are wont to say every chance they get - we just report the news in a fair and balanced way.

When news media become celebrities and start believing their own press - well, it leads to this.

I think the media itself turned on him - remember there are missing reporters in Iraq. I agree with someone on another thread that stated "this is BIG BOSS outrage".

Reporters should be reporting - fine, give both sides - but anytime they bring in their personal attitudes they run the risk of being attacked. There is a difference in my mind between reporting the news and making the news. Peter crossed that line (and seems to have done so in the past).

My efforts to dwell in a "Petah-free Zone" (no PeTA, no Petah Jennings, no Petah Ahnett) will be greatly eased by this development.
