She is from my state of Arizona and I am soooo proud of her and pray for her safe return.

Thanks you.

good piece. thanks for posting
I especially like this, "American Patriotism is the best future for Indians. Our highest honor is in preserving what we have left, through preserving America. Its our duty to defend the country, and our privilege to rise above history."
You can substitute any group for Indians and it is no less true.

I thought she was from West Virginia?

I heard a report this evening that said that the tribe has over 50 members who are serving their country in the Armed Services. I only know three, myself.

You're thinking of 19-year-old Jessica Lynch, another Marine missing in that same ambush. MIA.

That's the one.
From the one picture I saw, I thought the other girl was black, unless this Lori is a third female soldier in the group. I thought there were only two females in that ambush.

Did anyone notice how those POWs and the dead from that fated 507th Maintenance Division are a microcosm of America?
The Pow's and the missing from the 507th represent the greatness of American society. This small group of people has individuals as diverse as Hopi Indian, Hispanic, African American, and an Appalachian white.
These people all met their fate together as Americans, with the same goals, the same dreams. God Bless them for their service.

Dont cry for Lori. Shout to heaven for the triumph of her values, and for all Indians like her.A truly lovely tribute to Lori. It's a shame left-wing thinking is denying the American Indian community the joyous aspect of pride -- shouting this from the rooftops. It would so help their grief. Thank you for being different, and writing about Lori so beautifully.

I've gathered from the many reports of the "12" missing from the stray unit...that 5 were shown on t.v. as P.O.W.'s and 7-8 were shown as males executed. Did the Pentagon or anyone mentin that the executed shown on Arab t.v. to be positively identified? Perhaps the 2 females discussed in this post were killed also. I AM PRAYING FOR ALL OF THEM AS OF ALL OUR TROOPS IN IRAQ AND WORLDWIDE. Also, if any P.O.W.'s were executed....could the number equal maybe Hussein, his sons and other top officials we hopefully took out on the 1st night. Just my thought. I know they don't care about the regular Iraqui citizen but they would revenge Hussein, his sons and others deaths. What do you think?
