We only posted one flyer today, at the post office on Point Mugu. I've been wearing a Support Our Troops pin every day this week to work. Everytime someone comments on it, I tell them about the upcoming rally.

I gave one to the guys at the Harbor Patrol office on Victoria, then went to the Coast Guard Recruiting. I think some people from my office will join us (I hope). Tomorrow we have the track meet in Newbury Park and then I'll go up to TO and see if there is an interest there in them coming down to our rally.

I was thinking...I felt kind of dumb after I said "Go over there to the yellow ribbon thread!" How silly of me. It was a knee jerk reaction and this is a forum not a chat room!

By the way, there is a prayer vigil tomorrow in Oxnard at the Plaza Park.

This story made the Channel 9 News tonight in L.A. -- 8 p.m. edition. They ALSO said they will "be out there (in T.O.) Saturday at 5:30 a.m." when the ribbon lady starts replacing what was taken down. She was interviewed as well and showed all the ribbon that had been RETURNED to her by the city. (At least they didn't toss it out).

It seems there's a City law of some sort against placing ribbons or signs on the public parkway. Now, however, citing special circumstances, Thousand Oaks city officials will revisit the issue and reconsider their position.

Actually, T.O. City Hall has placed its OWN yellow ribbon at its offices, and is in total support of the U.S. effort in Iraq.

Thanks, guys, for your support! Since I work there and know what's going on, it was a little disconcerting to be criticized for passing on truthful information. Oh, well, this too shall pass. It appears that everything worked out. See y'all on Sunday!

Looks like we are going to have a beautiful day tomorrow but lots of wind! I need to add my some support to my sign to make it more sturdy.

Hey Everybody - We have have some new chapter members - ToriJasmine and her husband!! Please give them a nice welcome!

Also, as a reminder - please check in at the table with the blue tablecloth and pick up a Freeper nametag, say hi, etc. That will be freeper headquarters.

Hi Everyone
I was in TO today looking for Mike? and his band of Ralliers but could not find anyone...I think the wind. I saw the ribbons up and down Lynn and over to Hillcrest. Passed out a flyer to a lady tying yellow ribbons and to a Newbury Park boy scout troop.

Bring sunscreen tomorrow!

I think he may have been out of town. I know he had a rally earlier this week (Wednesday p.m.). I try to keep him in the loop - I think he might be a freeper now!

I saw yellow ribbons all along the Wendy drive overpass over the 101 today. Good job, whoever placed those there! The KFI Saturday afternoon host today was grousing about the yellow ribbons in "white" Thousand Oaks, as he referred to it (he was against the use of yellow ribbons) - but then again his other topic was loudly calling for Donald Rumsfeld to be fired immediately, so consider the source.

We plan to be there before 11:30. Same as last week, bringing tame tags, markers, trash bags, camera, and whatever other odds and ends we might need. See you then!

Good! I'm getting ready to load up the car. Be sure to bring water and a hat! It's going to be hot and sunny (but hopefully not too windy).

Did you see the Star today? It was a very nice write up on Seabeespouse's family. At least two of the other families interviewed were at the rally last Sunday.
