There's a post on FR that says the Pentagon says this pause is far from confirmed. Personally, I think it's a real deal but the Pentagon is finding ways to handle the PR aspects.
Definitely not kosher to let your enemy know you're having ANY problems, no matter how minor.

The vindication comes with success.Victory will not come by news paper, press, commentator,or pundit. I feel good.

Personally I think the 'Shock and Awe' is being reserved for our final assault. All of the planners.....military and political have sucked everyone into the plan, including the media, Saddam and his supporters here and in Baghdad. We all know how Dubya has jammed it up the a** of his enemies in the past. Be prepared for Dubya AND the military to do the same thing again. After all of the petty 'paramilitaries' have been eliminated during this so called lull and killed during seek and destroy missions, and all of the vaunted Republican Guard units have been herded into a killing box, shock and awe will be unleashed before during and after the final assault on Baghdad.
The "Shock and Awe" will be the conclusion of the 'Battle of Baghdad' and be the conclusion rather than the beginning. JMHO

thanks, we are ok. Turns out my husband heard and felt the thing too. He was at a hardware store 8 miles from here. Local PD said they've had numerous calls in the last few days about the same thing in our area. Maybe sonic booms. We're not to far from a military air base.

"The Craw!"
I loved that episode! I was also reminded of the classic "My name is Abu Bin Boobie!" "No, MY name is Abu Bin Boobie!"
One of the funniest shows ever on TV...

Here's another view...
I'm guessing (from the audio) that this camera was about a mile away. I grabbed this from a Reuters feed.

Yes, alas, I said it, and it was true. It wasn't hard to know, actually, since I wrote it first in "The War Against the Terror Masters," which was released in September and went to press last June.
And Syria, too...since they believe they are next, they have to try to tie us down in Iraq and bleed us to death, counting on American public opinion and the notoriously short attention span of American political leaders to get us out before they, the Syrians and Iranians, are brought down by their own people.
