One of the rally participants just got an excellent response from the KHAY D.J. I would post it here but it probably isn't a good idea - it was very supportive though and the D.J. is going to try to make it to our rally.

SeaBeeSpouse just spent an hour with Tamara (a reporter from the Star). The main focus of the interview was seabeespouse's daughter...the reporter wanted to get a child's point of view. From what seabeespouse told me, the interview went very well...let's see how things turnout. The report will be in the Sunday paper.

Check this e-mail out - it come from one of the rally attendees!
My wife placed an advertisement in the Star newspaper, in the announcements and new today sections, announcing Sundays support the troops rally. It should be in the Saturday, March 29th, edition for Oxnard, Ventura and Camarillo. We are hoping that it will inform and bring out more supporters.

That is such a wonderful thing these people did! It proves that we have great people working to show our military that they do have support back home!

How wonderful for someone to post an ad like that!
My husband has handed out about 8 flyers. Tomorrow, I am planning on asking the exchange, gas station, bowling alley, Subway and McDonalds on Pt. Mugu if I can post a flyer. On my way through the gate today, I asked if I could post a flyer there but was told it is against policy.

I know the bowling alley will let you post a flier..they let me post one for the last rally...another place to post a flier is at the post office on Pt. Mugu, as well as the Credit Union..Let me know if you need any other ideas! Thank you for all of your help!

On Point Mugu we posted a flyer at the bowling alley, Subway, and three of them at the Surf Net. We left one at the gym for the manager to approve. We got turned down by the Exchange. I'm out of flyers. I will print more tomorrow and hit the other business's on base.

I got a response from Mark James from KHAY. He was not very nice..at least he seemed to be hostile and defensive. I was told by him that in order for KHAY to endorse our event they have to have many weeks notice to get things cleared through their lawyers, etc. I guess that means that they will not be formally endorsing the rally.
I just caught a angry vibe from his letter & I don't think my letter was offensive at all. I guess that when you are reading something you can turn it into whatever you want?.?. WHATEVER!!!!!!!
I'm not going to let this slow me down. If anything it has made me desire to work harder.
Keep on FReepin'! This will be a great rally!!!!!!
