Sounds to me some enterprising Chemistry students at Baghdad U. had an experiment get out of hand.

It's just a gaggle of grad students. Never mind them...

*laugh* When I was in grad school, my thesis advisor was the sort that if the city was under bombardment would say, "Well, that means you can't go out so get back to work!"

Picture of bombing from a little earlier for those of us stuck with sucky or no web cams...Link

Aside from the bombing a little earlier, not a whole lot. BTW, pirates are usually the highlight of my day, too.

LOL! I once took a computer programming final exam sitting on the front lawn of the school because some bonehead phoned in a bomb threat. Didn't phase my instructor at all.

I recall seeing that, it was an abomination the way she spoke to him. You would have thought she was scolding some bum in the gutter.

I had to take a Human A&P test on a lawn one time for the same exact reason. And her tests were multiple multiple choice exams.

During the bombing of Baghdad the Iraqi information minister was being interviewed. He claimed:

1 We are idiots

2 No one was afraid, despite the idiots attempting to frighten them

3 The Iraqi army downed 186 of our missles.

Those claims were followed by several attempts to make #3 a true statement. Such as, they were downed by buildings, they were downed by hitting the ground, ect.

USA, UK, and Australia. Poland. And a few other countries -- that's the side of good. There is a side of evil. The rest of the world blows with the wind

Japan's constitution does not allow them to send combat troops. They will be supplying more aid and money than probably any other country than us though. They have also provided 100% political aid to Bush, helping in diplomacy with other countries (offering money for support of Bush etc). Japan was not one of the countries that waited for a paycheck to back Bush, they were onboard from the beginning and have been investing real money and diplomatic support even though their economy is hurting.

"Rats only worry about cost when it conerns the military." One of life's ultimate truths that should be put to music.

The military analysts on the Beeb didn't get The Memo. They're talking quamire, foolish moves, overestimating strength, not getting all the ducks in a row, Americans miscalculate, quagmire, quagmire.

So how close are we again to B-dad, and how long did we take to get there?

Clinton's promises to hunt down and punish the terrorists

Good set of facts, and a couple of illuminating questions.

Darn, didn't he say this was a big mess. I am quite fond of the Iraqi spokespeople characterizing their downfall as a big mess. It sort of makes me think Beaver Cleaver is writing their scripts:)

The most amazing part, despite her rudeness, she was utterly wrong. He is not in charge of the defense budget, but she thought she was making HIM look foolish when she was the fool. She was also wrong about how appropriation(sp?) bills work. The rest of the members of the committe were smirking. I was appaled that someone who had no clue how our system works was a representative.

I once took a computer programming final exam sitting on the front lawn of the school because some bonehead phoned in a bomb threat

What'd they do, drag the computers out onto the lawn and run extension cords into the building?
