I heard Steven Spielberg say the French wouldn't even let him film the D-Day scenes in "Saving Private Ryan" on the Normandy beaches. In all fairness, I believe they refused the use of the Normandy beaches because they're all protected monuments and preserves now.

Cool article.

Andy is (I believe) somewhat liberal, but he knows of which he speaks. Here's to him for telling like it is!

The French really did it this time. It takes an awful lot
to Piss-off Andy Rooney

I live in Las Vegas. I had to throw out 2 illegals trespassing this evening\
They wanted their clip-board back.
Some hispanic Church wanting neighbors to grant them a varience.
These assholes walked 180 ft. down my driveway--after hopping my fence!
The Police did jack shit!
F-them!!!!

Surprise, surprise, surprise. Just when I thought Andy had gone off the left end, he comes up with a message that makes sense. He hit a home run in the later days of his career.

Rooney is old, old school and he doesn't give a sh*t anymore. He knows what he's saying is true.

At the FR rally in New York to support the President and the members of the military this past Sunday, there was a comment by a speaker that was followed by a chant from the supporters:
Moderator: WAR SAVED FRANCE
Supporters: TWICE!

Based on his WWII reporting, Rooney statees that Gen. Patton was a shameful excuse for an American. He may understand something about the French, but nothing about war or the American character.
