I heard Steven Spielberg say the French wouldn't even let him film the D-Day scenes in "Saving Private Ryan" on the Normandy beaches. In all fairness, I believe they refused the use of the Normandy beaches because they're all protected monuments and preserves now.

Cool article.

Maybe we should send a few inspectors to make sure it's still "preserved."

Andy is (I believe) somewhat liberal, but he knows of which he speaks. Here's to him for telling like it is!
To: Slyfox
The French really did it this time. It takes an awful lot
to Piss-off Andy Rooney

I live in Las Vegas. I had to throw out 2 illegals trespassing this evening\
They wanted their clip-board back.
Some hispanic Church wanting neighbors to grant them a varience.
These assholes walked 180 ft. down my driveway--after hopping my fence!
The Police did jack shit!
F-them!!!!
To: Slyfox
Surprise, surprise, surprise. Just when I thought Andy had gone off the left end, he comes up with a message that makes sense. He hit a home run in the later days of his career.

Seems like an order of "French Toast" is in order, with a side of Iraqi "Trench Fries!"

In all fairness, I believe they refused the use of the Normandy beaches because they're all protected monuments and preserves now. There is nothing at Normandy except one big monument, Point de Hoc, and the American cemetery. Otherwise, it's just miles of beaches. Been there twice in the last two years.

Correction. There is the old temporary harbor, what is left of it, at Arromanches. NOW, that's all.

Rooney is old, old school and he doesn't give a sh*t anymore. He knows what he's saying is true.
