Soon Baghdad will be liberated, and all of what we have been saying will be revealed. I cant wait to see thousands of Union Jacks and Old Glorys in the waving hands of happy liberatees? ( Is that a word?)

"
However, the bulk of the Medina's forces remained dug in near the Euphrates river." Soon, the bulk of the Medina's forces will be buried near the Euphrates river.

Inspite of those armchair generals who lack their own set of balls and want our men to die for their egos, we are doing great.
Now the RG is getting the nearly full effect of hammer and anvil. The hammer is our air arms and the anvil are the fire power of our tanks and other weapons. When the dust storm dies down, we can really get up close with Spectre, Wart Hogs and other close quarter ways to kill the RG's.

happy liberatees? ( Is that a word?) (No.) The word is "liberals". No, wait, that wouldn't work. It's "liberatorees". "Liberaces"? Oh, heck, how about "the liberated"?

"To avoid any excessive optimism at this stage I should say we don't have an absolutely clear indication of the scale or scope of this uprising, what has engendered it, or where it is going to take us," When Republican Guard and Fedayeen heads begin appearing on spikes and their limbless torsos are being thrown out of the city, the extent of the uprising will be breathtakingly clear!

Weather will be clearing in Iraq by Thursday. The Apache's and Warthog's are about to seriously get into the game.

In years to come, history will note the battles of Basra and the Karbala Gap. The days ahead will be tough, but victory is near. Sitting here listening to Rule Brittania and praying for our boys. Stay strong.
To: MadIvan
The advancing army would want to hold both banks of the Euphrat and the Tigr to avoid the Stalingrad effect. A 20 mile Kabballa Gap is entirely to the advantage of the attackers rather than the dug-in defenders. At some point the defenders will be leapfrogged to an open space and surrounded in the suburbs. Bagdad would be undefended.

No doubt our fly boys will smack down the RG mercilessly. This will give us time to reinforce our positions. Secure our lines and bring more force up to Baghdad.
To: Brett66
Good! More hammers to pound the RGs into the anvil.

I don't see how an immobile (Dug In) Iraqi Republican Guard Division can be any use once it is throughly bombed by B-52s, F-16s, and F-117s.
Hopefully, the Air Force can get RG properly preped for the 3rd Infantry Division.
To: MadIvan
Mr Bush's war budget includes up to $8.5bn in direct financial aid to Turkey You have to be kidding me! What the heck for? The sorry turds...errr...Turks reniged on the original plan to let us move troops through their land, then delayed airspace opening until after the start of the campaign, THEN they want to move their own troops into northern Iraq without our approval - Screw them..

I don't see how an immobile (Dug In) Iraqi Republican Guard Division can be any use once it is throughly bombed by B-52s, F-16s, and F-117s. The problem with your statement is that we're not supposed to bomb the urban areas where they're dug in. If they have the strength to defend all of our active approachs at once and we cannot drop good old volumes of B52 bombs on them, this is going to take a some time...
To: MadIvan
Now the media is harping about all the resistance
Afer the RG gets its butt kicked they will be harping about how mean we were

Saddam canal at Nasiriya for the... The new Iraqi administration will require an entire burocracy to rename the thousands of landmarks, bridges, hospitals, schools, etc, named after saddam over the past 23 years. The only place where his name will be seen is in the history books.
