200 people isn't too shabby. Very good planning on this event, having info booths and a band playing inbetween speakers. Good to know Janet and Lori "TNC" Feath saw a large group of people hanging out and sharing information, becoming informed, etc, for 4 hours in their front yard!
About the constant prodding, that's what you get for working with a former Typographer/Proofreader, lol. I can be pretty anal (pretty anal? lol) going for that professional look.
I know you were snowed under, (pun intended = Snow in Heber) with your busy job and family, with responses to the Billboard. It was a great idea. Timing was perfect. While Janet was meeting with envirals in Prescott, working on her "plan" for forest management, the people were one step ahead of her, organizing this rally and not inviting her. Quite a message!
Can't wait for reports and photos from those who attended.

Seems like we should get some pics and a first hand description shortly....Dave went and passed out some AZFIRE buttons and.....check it out....Bumper stickers are done, full color duplicate of the Heber Board. Looks like I get 300 out of the thousand that were produced to sell! Prolly 2 bucks each like last time with full proceeds going to the board.

Thanks for keeping me on the ping list. This is one of the most aggravating problems in this country. Common sense and logic are ignored by those in power. Mass destruction is the result. I don't see how this is different than a fifth column.

Apparently it has almost gone too far to save. We have pushed to reopen our national forests using a combination of fuels reduction and small diameter green timber thinning. It looks like no one will bid on it.
The mills are gone. The environmental regulations are too costly. The lumber market has transferred off shore or to Canada for sourcing. The cogeneration market isn't covering its costs.
The idea that the green thinnings will pay for the fuel reduction is a dud. We will now have to actually pay companies to go in and reduce fuels. It now takes a large green timber sale just to cover the harvest and processing costs.
The enviros have created a disaster with conditions that will fuel conflagrations across the west.
