When I told someone who is familiar with the Arab culture about the black woman who was captured, she said that "She is lucky she is not blonde, ..."That's what I thought too, though I didn't say it. As for this girl... even if she's alive, I doubt she'll ever be seen again.

No doubt NOW will turn around and wave the bloody shirt, screaming that American women are dying in combat because of George Bush. Yup. Just as all those who condemn Bush for war in Iraq would be the first to howl, "What did Bush know and when did he know it?" if he had done nothing against Saddam and Iraq attacked us later on.

"Not all women want to stay home and breed." That was a really idiotic comment.

"Thank you, Frank! Women in Combat are nothing but a hazard to our otherwise brave boys!"
That's your statement, and that's BASHING. This woman dies for her country, and she's put down by YOU. You have nothing good to say about any woman in any job in the military, and THIS IS NOT THE PLACE for you to post your diatribe about the fitness of a soldier who just died. We have a thread for the discussion of women in the military, GO THERE.
My daughter is NOT a hazard to your brave boys. She'll be doing her job, supporting them in combat.
I'll tell you one thing - if she dies doing that job, I sure as hell not post it here on FreeRepublic. Because if I did, one of you SOBs would show up and *hit on her memory.
Why the hell are you so bent on showing up on every "woman in combat" story and bashing the hell out of our TROOPS??
To: dandelion
Good on your daughter. Now thank me for my son's job well done.

NO ONE is bashing the SOLDIER. Get a grip.....they are bashing the policies that allow women to be put in direct harms way, where they will likely be put through MORE HORRORS than men.

NO ONE is being disrespected....it's the policy. See, people like to discuss POLICY....like we discuss Affirmative Action Policies...get it?

Oh Please. That is so archaic. So what's next? Children in combat? Overweight people in combat? Mentally handicapped people in combat? Blind people in combat? What if they demand their right to serve? If you oppose them it would be discrimination, you know.

The hysteria some of these women are displaying rather strengthens the arguments against women in combat, IMHO.
To: annyokie
Call me old fashioned but...I do not think women should be in combat either. Sorry...my opinion.

Thank you, goodnesswins!
Prayers to all our brave boys and girls.

This subversion of traditional American values weakens America.
To: annyokie
I already have. I have posted memorials, prayed each night, shown up to put down the protesters in the street, flown the flag, PRAYED FOR YOUR SON PERSONALLY when you posted that he was there, AND I have also tried to keep track of those who say they have a loved one in the military. From what you say, you're son is absolutely gorgeous, has a bit of a wit, and you miss him tremendously. You are proud of him, and you worry that someone is going to cost your son his life just because Clinton was an idiot and tried to destroy the American military with social experimentation. You love your son, and you know that if he were to die doing his duty, this forum would back you up 100% in prayer and praise for the ultimate sacrifice, for greater love has no man than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.
I, on the other hand, have had to sit and watch while thread after thread is destroyed while the vultures come to bash our women soldiers EACH TIME one is posted.
I've got news for you - I'm not a proponent of women in combat. I AM a proponent of giving credit to those who put themselves on the line for me.
You had to come here and put this woman down. Now, I've said something good about your son, you say something good about this woman who may have died in the line of duty.
To: annyokie
I must add while I do not think they should be in combat I'm not saying they should not be valued members of our Armed Forces. I worry about women in combat because of the hands they might fall into if taken as a POW. It's not a pleasant thought. Prayers for all our military men and women!!
To: cubreporter
Thank you! I am not oldfashioned and niether are you, we are merely practical.
Someone last night spoke of the rigueurs of Combat and how one would react to one's daughter or mother coming under attack. It is an esprit de corps breaker. Some things and combat is one of them need not be sheaperded by civilians.

Truer words were never spoken. She should never have been allowed to be there. A combat area is no place for women, in any capacity, at any time. Why?
Because some of the boys don't have enough discipline to keep their minds on the job when a woman is around?
Because you haven't had a new idea in 30 years?
Because you are willing to condemn all wimmin because some have gotten to positions they can't fill by afirmative action?
You gotta lot of absolutist BS but no facts to back it up.
You are arguing on the basis of what feels right, not logic and facts.
You are, in fact, arguing just like a liberal.
There are lots of people who have gotten where they don't belong by afirmative action, but we can't assume that every minority in any position is unfit unless we are gonna wear sheets and hang out with Sen. Byrd (kkk WV)
