Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch.

I watched it.
Harrison Ford said "the winner is Roman Polanski, The Pianist", and the crowd stood and clapped and hooted for a good while.
Ford had to interrupt to say the boiler-plate thankyou, when the winner is not there.

My understanding is that the Martin quip about the teamsters referred to Moore making the documentary without using union workers..ie, the teamsters are going to get him for that...and so probably had nothing to do with his anti-Bush statements but instead was a joke he planned to use regardless.re: My post #113 -- I stand corrected by what you wrote above
To: Pa' fuera
this is a stab at Bush, implying that he's in the mob. This is not a pro-Bush statement. It sounded to me like an insider joke indicating the union is p*ssed at guys like Moore for destroying their industry with their bigmouths.

But just think of how much $$$$ we're saving by not going to the movies and renting videos!!!! (A great side benefit, you know.....)

"And I read they didn't give The Two Towers the Art Editing award!" The fact that they've paid so little attention to the first movie in ages that displayed real artistic genius says to me that the awards have little to do with actual talent.

"I don't theink the elites booed Moore because they don't agree with him, I think they did to be seen as pro America to deflect the criticism they have been getting. It was purely self serving."BINGO...
The Dixie Chicks lambasting was a lesson learned for at least some of Hollywood -- even if it is merely for business sake.

Haven't seen Chicago, but the trailers point to a Caberet wannabe, and I'd rather have the original Bob Fosse. How in the world can that compare to Fangorn Forest, the flooding of Isengard, the Golden Tower of Edoras, the battle of Helm's Deep...The Art Editing is about the images. There was nothing to touch The Two Towers in innovation and beauty. We wuz robbed, as I expected we would be.

I want to know who the lady was about 5-10 rows in the background when I think they had Louis Gossett smirking on screen during Moore's rant. She had her hands around her mouth booing rather loudly.
What really got me is that all of the gutless wonders gave Moore a standing ovation when he came down the aisle but didn't have the guts to stand up and applaud when he gave his speech. I noticed the next award was a short documentary on the twin towers, none of the same morons stood to applaud the winners when they came down the aisle.

Roman Polansky, who is still a fugitive from US Law. In the 1970's, he seduced a 14 year old girl, and fled the country to France to avoid a trial. I read the deposition. it wasn't "seduction". He drugged her with a combination of alcohol and drugs, then forcibly raped her. When she told him she wasn't on birth control in the middle of things, he switched to raping her anally

Actually I heard this morning that there are 30 of these award shows done during prime time each year. And there are many more that they don't show. Sick bunch.
