What's the yield difference in 5-10 MOAB's and a battlefield nuke?

5-10 MOABs would be a spark to a tactical nuke.

I found this on HowStuffWOrks.com

Compared to a nuclear bomb, the MOAB produces a tiny explosion. The smallest known nuclear bomb -- the Davy Crockett fission bomb -- has a 10-ton yield. The difference is that a nuclear bomb that small weighs less than 100 pounds (45 kg) and produces significant amounts of lethal radiation when it detonates. For comparison, the nuclear bomb dropped on Hiroshima had a yield of 14,500 tons of TNT and weighed only 10,000 pounds (4,500 kg) -- half the weight of the MOAB. See How Nuclear Bombs Work for details.

If the government didn't execute the Rosenbergs for treason, tell me what they executed them for?

I believe it was espionage.

Does anyone know if there are any embeds with the paratroopers?

MOAB is what, 10-tons (0.01 kilitons)? Even a Pakistani nuke can manage 2 kilitons yield

Why bomb them with carpets? They love that stuff. Lets use throw rugs, or better yet lawn whirligigs, I hate those things.

Ooh, I haven't heard those numbers. Fox earlier had an ex-Gen on and he said we'd have close to 50K vs RG's 30K around BAG, but we have better equipment and can hit them from farther away.

Said we'd quickly take out their tanks one at a time, then move in to keep what's left from moving back into BAG.

And a MOAB can still do a large amount of damage, really puts the risk of a nuke into perspective...

Don't think so but I am sure there are plenty in the US Military who would love to push some journalists out of a plane. :-D

um, why don't we just carpet bomb them anyway?

In Karbala the RG has embedded itself in the residential areas .. if we carpet bomb we kill a lot of civilians.

Now once they go WMD all bets are off

This morning one of the networks (yes, I am MISS NO-CABLE)
interviewed a female colonel who was a POW in gulf war.

She mentioned that Sexual abuse is NOT limited to just women & that it is just another form of abuse & must be thought of in that manner.

She gave a strong testimony..said she communicated with fellow POWS by singing.. they did not permit talking but let her sing..

maybe this # of troops being put out in media is dis-info? I find it hard to believe that our intelegence wouldn't dictate that we need a little more muscle than that. Of course we do have air superiority.

IIRC, the blast radius for the Crockett was greater than it's range. Not really good for morale.
