If they've made it across the river, things should speed up a bit. They'll no longer have the cover they had while on the west/southwest side of it.

"We have found no caches of WMDs to date." TV generation....instant gratification. Every journalist covering a war should be required to go without food, sleep, showers at random times, learn to handle a gun, see a brutal death close up, understand the Constitution, talk to at least a hundred veterans who have fought, waited, lost a comrade, left family behind, risked their lives.

The ability to cross the river has been ours (at An Nasiriyah) for 12-16-24 hours.

small worlds? I saw a geneaology tree in Salt Lake City at the LDS that shows, from one guy, came Churchill, Nixon, Ford (under his real name) and GW Bush. It's wild! you can't be serious!
who's the common ancestor?

This is almost more than I can stand to hear re what they're saying over at DU. WTC - civilians - no notice. Iraq - leadership targeted - lots of notice (over a year, actually). Now I need to rinse the bad taste out of my mouth.

Rita Crosby is on.Better than the BBC Commie babe masquerading as a journalist that I'm watching.

Well....at least we can get past the shallowness of critiquing her outfit....she's gone now.
I agree, it was NOT what I would have chosen. Luckily, we gave credit to the intelligence within, and didn't get too hung up on negating her words due to her fashion sense.

As I said on a previous thread, I think that if a woman is qualified to go out and do the job, so be it. If she isn't, then she shouldn't. No PC to it.
I am also southern, so I do think that women shouldn't be in harm's way. (that's what men are for) If there is a need, and they can do the job, then they should also understand the risks that they could be captured or killed. No life is more important than anyone else out there.
A woman who knows the danger and proceeds is a treasure only a madman would spurn.
If a woman wants to help with the war effort, we should harness this enthusiasm and find a use for them, not spurn their desire.

I think GW and Winston Churchill go back to a Spencer - the same line of Spencers that Lady Di was part of.

FN - Steve Centanni w/ Navy SEALS in Persian Gulf:
Follow-up mission to Thurs. nights' securing the oil terminals.
"...approaching Iraqi waters... in a Mark 5...looking for any suspicious vessels that might be carrying mines.
"We want to clear these waterways and make them safe for shipping."
"Looking for anybody who might be escaping from Iraq." Found two men on an old wreck this morning waving white flags...surrendered this morning.
"Near the town of Umm Kasar (sp)....burning oil, 4 to 5 miles away...still contested. Not totally within our control."

You won't find many people in SD this week that would disagree that Dasshole is a Jack___. I sure wouldn't.

I appreciate her tough style. She's a far cry from Clintonoid Dee Dee Myers.
