Black liberals need to respond to insult of Rice by Baraka

I suspect Amiri Baraka will not like Condi when she is called "Madam President."

Damn, I like the sound of the words, "President Rice."

This professor's comment shows just how far literature and humanities departments have sunk.

They have lost any sense of Arnold's concept of great literature as cutting across all cultural lines from within cultures in favor of political whoring after fragmented sub-cultures without any regard as to the actual quality of the writing.

LeRoi Jones, as he once styled himself, has written nothing that anyone can point to that will last. He is the exact equivalent of the plethora of those writers who once wrote in racial dialect, whose work quickly sand beneath the waves of time.
