Why do people care so much about what some musician has to say? Do you often get into heated political discussions with your firm's customers/clients? ;-)

Both of the sisters in the group have said that she doesn't speak for them.

Everyone has a right to free speech.
Nobody has a right to be heard. Look it up - it ain't there.
How do you stop people from forcing you to hear them? Any way you can.

"Why do people care so much about what some musician has to say?"How much of the rest of the world take their cues on what "Americans" are thinking from movies, songs, music videos, books, celebrities, and the like? If the trash that these camera-hogs is allowed to be spewed without contradiction .. and, face it, because we can't get the media coverage, there needs to be a much larger counter-force to counteract their nonsense .. everyone around the world will begin to think, "All Americans are against this as well."
In this regard, silence implies agreement. It's the same here on FreeRepublic. If you post a thread and make no comment after the entry, it's assumed that you are in agreement with the article posted. Silence is surrender.

Many people get their world view from freerepublic too...so what? The key word here is view...opinion...not necessarily the truth. The fact is that they are, as are we, people that think differently than others.

From USA Today: "Bob Richards at WFMS-FM in Indianapolis says he's continuing to play the record as he was before the controversy. "So far, it has not been a major issue with our listeners," he says. "What I'm choosing to do is offer Natalie forgiveness."

Wow she really doesn't get it. A simple apology and many were willing to move on. But her defiant attitude and still not dealing with the fact she spoke on foreign soil doesn't cut it.
She's becoming the Left's poster child.

Did y'all see Travis Tritt on FOX yesterday? He said that Natilie was cowardly because she said what she did just to pander to a foreign crowd. Basically, she didn't have the courage to say that in the States.

Stepping in it once just wasn't enough...she's back for more. This is a very common trait among White Trash, and that's what she really is. (with all apologies to White Trash everywhere).

Travis Tritt brought up a good point. Let's see that slug say the same thing at the Astrodome. I don't think the Dipsy Chicks would have gotten this reaction had Maines' used constructive criticism rather than a childish slant in an effort to kiss the ass of a bunch of anti-American Euroapeasers.

To annouce that I, my family, my friends, and anybody else I can convince, dispise the likes of Mme. Maines for thier attitudes is morally just. Mme. Maines needs to understand that, while she can exercise her Freedom of Speech all she cares to, the rest of us have that same right and can call for "public abhorence" of all things "Chickey".
