This came from Drudge's website.

That is a BS headline for him to have a siren on. Our forces have been part of multi-national operations before, and if Marines were unhappy about it, most would not say anything about it publicly anyway.

Drudge even has the siren out!
To: ConservativeMan55
Not the first time. It happened in WW2.

I bet the Brits are in charge of securing the oilfields and need some of our Marines to hold them.

Doesn't he always have the siren out on Sundays before his show comes on? With a teaser leading it... that never materializes into much?

Still. I would like to see the full article on this when the article has fully developed.
To: ConservativeMan55
There's nothing new here. In fact, the Washington Times ran a feature article on it last week.
Bet the Marines are glad to have the Brits along on this one. It's much better than having to babysit French or German troops.

Yes he does. Remember last week it was the terrorists planning on attacking Pearl Harbor. But this still sounds like an interesting story.

Sometimes I wonder what Drudge thinks about in his head... is he from the Etherzone??? Is he a Pat Buchannan clone??

Heh. Exactly.
To: ConservativeMan55
This is complete and total BS! This announcement was made almost a week ago. I think they are providing support to SAS units...and the bottom-line is that the Brit in command will still be reporting to Tommy Franks.

You're probably right. I don't have a problem with our military having a mid level commander that is a Brit as long as our troops overall commander is an American.

Drudge even has the siren out! His radio show comes on in about an hour. Tune in and find out!;-)

That story has been out there for a few weeks...it was agreed that certain pieces of US force would be under some level of British field command.
I am not a military person, but my reading of this awhile back was that it was not some major situation like "Monty" taking over the Southern Flank and making some crazy independent decision to take "Damascus" rather than "Baghdad."
I think Drudge overdoes some of this when he is short on headlines. Now, if he was 100% positive Bush goes on the air at 6pm tomorrow night to tell people to leave the country, that would rate a siren.
