By Michael Stetz UNION-TRIBUNE STAFF WRITER March 14, 2003 As military action against Iraq looms, two war protests and a rally in support of troops will be held in San Diego County this weekend.
Elected officials in North County are organizing the rally to show support for members of the military and their families. The rally will be noon to 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Community Center at San Marcos City Hall, 3 Civic Center Drive.
Those attending can sign a giant letter that will be sent to the troops. Canned goods will be accepted and donated to military families as well.
State Sen. Bill Morrow, R-Oceanside; Assemblyman Mark Wyland, R-Del Mar; and U.S. Rep. Randy "Duke" Cunningham, R-Escondido, will attend. At the same time tomorrow, the North County Coalition for Peace will hold a rally at Oceanside's beachfront amphitheater.
Another anti-war rally is to be held in Balboa Park on Sunday. That rally, sponsored by the San Diego Coalition for Peace and Justice, is to start at 2 p.m. Protesters are to meet at Park Boulevard and Presidents Way. An earlier protest sponsored by the same organization at the Federal Building in downtown San Diego attracted an estimated 5,000 people

Thanks, Leni. I gave it my best shot, given that I had about 30 seconds!
We philosophers generally require more time to develop our story line, but I am learning!
In fact, Roger told me Monday night he appreciated my brevity when we were talking about the National Retail Sales Tax on his show -- I got about 3 minutes! It has taken me about 5 or 6 years doing guest shots on radio to get there.
I have been practicing, and I can now answer any question on any subject in 15 seconds, or less! LOL!
I sure would like to have had some more time, though!
Abner wanted me to get the usflagballoon.com site on the air. I'll try again next week.
