Heard the DJ on the local country music station here in Atlanta discussing the comments made by the Dixie Chicks during their concert Saturday night in London. They 'reportedly' made the comment that they're "ashamed that Bush is from Texas" among other things.
Did a little digging and found the referenced thread on the Hollywood Halfwits page. Since I couldn't find any sign of it here on FR, I thought I'd see if anyone else had heard/knew more about it?
Speaking only for myself, I'm ashamed the Dixie Chicks are from America.

Did you notice how these pampered entertainment freaks use the
foreign press as their mouthpiece?
Next time you get a message that says "Everyone overseas hates us" remember where it started.

It's a joke when people use the first amendment as an excuse to make irresponsible and cowardly statements. The Dixie Chickens had to go overseas to express their disloyalty and pander to the European audience by badmouthing the American president. They simply don't have the courage to do that before an American audience. If you're such a brave "dissenter", say it to our faces, don't go around our back and backstab us. I'm also amused how they assume their uninformed opinion will change any minds; it only coarsens the public dialogue. The only "wide open spaces" are in the heads of the Dixie Chicks.
