Although he was resigning from the State Department, Brown was quick to point out that he would be retaining his membership in the Communist Party.

Honestly, I'm surprised only two career dip-lo-weenies have resigned. This is a good sign that our policy is well-founded.

I have an interesting theory about human nature on these resignations. For these people to agree with Bush's new policy they have to acknowledge that Clinton's polices and theirs by association were wrong.

If they were wrong then they are partially responsible for 9-11. To admit that they are partially at fault for 9-11 is too much for them to accept so its better to feel that Bush is wrong.

Upon reviewing Brown's bio, he's probably been afflicted with an acute case of Euro-philia -- He's now a pseudo-American to be sure.

The Bush Doctrine -- Clean House Time.

The Pres does seem to have knack for doing that in his own style, and according to his own timeline.

His snail-like timeframe can be frustrating to red meaters like me, but at the end of the day the rewards are Columbo-like.... as in the TV detective, not the mobster....well maybe a little like the mobster. ;o)

Upon reviewing Brown's bio

A quick review indicates he was promoted under Clinton and relegated to a backwater under Bush. My guess is that his next career step was out the door.

"``Our fervent pursuit of war with Iraq is driving us to squander the international legitimacy that has been America's most potent weapon of both offense and defense since the days of Woodrow Wilson,"

Keep Saddam fully armed? What a jerk. Good riddance.

One could only hope it was out the door -- of a 747 at about 30,000 feet.

"There once was a man from Nantuckett... who's..."

Well, any Limerick lover would know the rest. As I recall, it, though, the final line is "instead of coming he went."

Suggested State Dept. press release regarding the resignation:

"It is with tremendous glee that we, utterly lacking in trepidation, joyously accept the resignation of this longstanding drain on the public treasury. All our best wishes go to the employee for what we know will be an outstanding future in the fast food or waste management industries."
