You can meet @$$holes like that in any store, church or movie theatre on any street in America. It's got nothing to do with public school. The teacher wore a pin.

This is true, but the teacher can act with impunity because they have "immunity" due to the NEA/AFT, and because the public school administrators are too spineless to do what they ought to do.

This teacher has no right to drag her politics into the classroom.

Oh, I'm sure that a teacher under the Taliban wearing a "We Hate Bush" button would be rewarded.

Nice to see Fox finally cover a story that hit the wires five days ago: Anti-Bush sentiment a hot-button issue

My daughter's school changed the menus to read FREEDOM FRIES instead of french fries to show support for our troops to which i sent a nice email to the principle letting him know that we thank him for choosing patriotism and not appeasment to teach our children

Hello

My name is xxxx xxxxxx my daughter's name is xxxxx xxxxxx im writing you in response to the name changing of the French fries on the menu to FREEDOM FRIES.

I must say from the bottom of my heart and my families heart THANK YOU for your support in these times of uncertainess in our conflict with Iraq and terrorism. It seems in these times we have as many enemies on our own shores as we do overseas it is very refreshing to see our school take a step in showing our troops and our countrymen what true patriotism and intestinal fortitude that americans have towards defending what is most important to us.

God , Country ,Liberty And freedom The Foundations of this great country. Were built on just such patriotism Our Founding fathers would be proud of the steps people like you and others in this great land are taking to ensure that our children are learning that freedom is not free and that liberty is to be cherished and held close to the heart as it has been fought for by people over these last 200 odd years .

God Bless and Thank You

Best Regards

xxxx xxxxxx

We're talking about leftwing fascists using their bully pulpit to propagandize their innocent charges. Teachers who push their politics at every opportunity. Leftwing ideology is allowed in public schools, right wing ideology is not tolerated at all.

It has little to do with what the average ignorant liberal on the street thinks.

Exactly. This school is in the same district as Columbine. At Columbine, the administation will not let Memorial Tiles with crosses to even be hung up. These tiles were made and paid for by the victims' families.

So, you're right.Free speech for all that agree with the Superintendent. If you don't agree, then you are trying to force your beliefs on others.

Nice double standard of tolerance Jeffco school district has.

Hey buddy, calm down, I'm a product of the Public school system. It's called Political humor....or Satire if you will. I'm not saying it's not safe, gosh some people can't take a joke about any thing.

And I do not advocate home-schooling, if it is your thing, fine. But when I do have kids I will be tempted to put them in Private schools. Test scores usually run higher, and I've had several friends come from it and all of them gave excellant reviews. But I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

...some people can't take a joke about any thing.

Check my posts in this Forum. I'll put my sense of humor up against anyone in here. I can quote you lines from any episode of "The Hitchhikers Guide...". I entertain at parties. I have personally hospitalized people with injuries sustained from laughing fits induced by my rapier-like wit. But enough about me...

I just get sick and tired of the public school bashing that goes on within FR.
The home schooling crowd paints all public schools with the same broad, disgusting brush.

My town has an excellent school system that is NOT overrun by screaming liberals. The halls are not patrolled by homosexual recruiters. My kids get a good education from responsible adults in a school run by a principal that does not put up with any crap at all. Furthermore, I know for a fact that my town is not alone in this. But many here will not admit that it is possible in a public school. Assuredly, many will, but still think the majority of public schools are indoctriantion centers for the Left Wingnuts. I don't believe it to be so and I stand up for that belief when challenged. I too am the product of a public school education. Certainly not today's schools. I've been in today's schools...a lot. They are better than the ones I went to.

I mistook your statement for more of the same screed from the home school harpies. I apologize.

I now return you to your regularly scheduled programming...

I don't doubt your comic ability.....perhaps we can have a joke thread on here one day to lighten things up a bit, seems like everyone has gotten real tense around here, myself included.

Like I said before, I'm a product of the Public school system, I enjoyed my time there. We had a minimum of Liberals and whatnot aswell. I have no real gripe with the system, but I have seen some schools that are heavilly emersed in Liberal doctorine. Not all, not even a majority, but like I said, where my kids go to school will be decided when I get to that bride.

We agree then.

I just get cranked when some folks indict all public schools because of the sensational headlines and news stories involving some schools.

If we don't want the government in charge of our health care, why in the heck do we want it in charge of educating our children? I really don't understand why so many "conservatives" are so enamored of socialized schooling.

Never leave home without your towel. A towel is a very useful thing.
