Good points. Clearly the Democrats compartmentalize terrorism, Iraq, Palestine, etc. I don't believe that they are disconnected, they feed off the chaos of the other (at a minimum) and by more direct means at a maximum (eg Iraq paying the families of suicide bombers). They have also fed off of our failure to face the entire mess for what it is. This is what makes the President's plans bold and possibly one of the most significant events in ordering world peace in a century that is only beginning.
Peter Goss is a terrific Congressman. He knows his stuff and shined during the post September 11 discussion on intelligence matters. Some say he has aspirations to head the CIA which would be fine with me.

I think everything Goss said is obvious and can be surmised by anyone who follows the news. In addition, publicizing the fact that we are on the trail of these scumbags could cause them to move around, make mistakes, panic, etc. The arrest of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed sends the same message Goss's statements do. We are hot on the trail, and we will nail them all, eventually, probably sooner rather than later.

As soon as the cockroachs heard about this guy being picked up, they started looking for new rocks to hide under. What Goss said didn't make any difference.

That's right we do the final clean-up on Al Queda, hang them as high successes in the war on terror; then afterwards move in on Iraq. Meanwhile continue sharing, leaking, dipursing, information that condemns Iraq. Keep making France and Germany look like gangsters. The whole Turkey thing throws a curve ball, but I think Bush can handle it.

Where is the link to the "betting pool" on the start date for the war (setting to one side that air power and special ops have been fighting already)?

Does anyone know the technical definition of "torture" as it is being used by the U.S. government?
My impression is that sleep deprivation does not constitute torture. The arrest of Manuel Noriega suggests so, because U.S. forces blasted the Papal Nuncio in Panama (where the guy took refuge) with nonstop ear-splitting music (or was it just noise?).

Thank you. It was worth the hour and 18 minute wait. LOL!

Khalid Shaikh Mohammed shortly after his capture... Egad...it must be really uncomfortable wearing a t-shirt over a sweater like that.
To: Sabertooth
Then it's irresponsible blabbering from someone who should know better. The bad guys don't need him to tell them they're being chased. They're already on the run.
Porter Goss is just a credible, convincing Congressman telling the truth and giving some good PR to the WOT. Good PR is our friend.
