" Phil Donahue struck back at MSNBC on Wednesday for his firing, suggesting the network was too quick to pull the trigger and that it might be trying to "out-fox Fox" with conservative voices. "

Has it ever occurred to these radical, left-wing, mean spirited, hateful types, that the American public doesn't want to hear the hate talk they (Phil DonoWho) spout. It just doesn't fly. His views represent only a small fraction of the citizenry.

Be ready: The Fairness Doctrine is coming back strong if the Dems get back a solid majority anytime soon, and they get some court nominees in place at the top. Be vigilant. This is how they will go after Fox and talk radio.

It's pretty clear that the whiners knew Phil's show was in intensive care. The recent "news" items about the lack of liberal radio talk shows and TV personalities were pre-emptive plants.

It took Fox 3 years because CNN blocked them from many cable markets, for years. From the getgo, when they went head-to-head, FOX won.

It took years of us demanding FOX on cable. The rest is history.

BTW, when FOX first started, Rupert Murdock publically stated that he was going to eat Ted's lunch. Ted laughed.

He, he, heee.

How's that crow taste now, MR. Jane Fonda?

You read my mind. Yes, revival of the "fairness doctrine" is liberal's only hope.

Up until Ronald Reagan, all statins had to provide "equal opportunity" for opposing viewpoints (can you imagine that now???). Ronald Reagan did away with that, and AM radio quickly started marketing those who drew audiences. Rush was one of the first.

They tried to bring it back about 6 years ago. It was nicknamed "The flush-Rush" bill. It died, but not that easy.

Ever since, libs have been losing elections.

Having government control of the airwaves, like the schools, only leads to, well, more government control.

Tell it to Alan Keyes, Mr. Marlo Thomas. He doesn't realize just how much he was coddled.

"It took almost three years for Fox (News Channel) to overtake CNN," Donahue said in a statement Wednesday. "We had six months."

CNN established itself since the early 1980s.

Fox wasn't even on my cable service until last year (about the same time I dropped my cable service because of few worthwhile programs, most of what I watched was on broadcast FOX).

Difficult to over take a network when viewers can't get it (Time-Warner owned CNN was guaranteed to air on Warner Cable but Fox was slow to be added to the included channels; my cable company byt the way was Optel).

Being turned out by MSNBC is like picking the homeliest person in the bar at two in the morning, and then being turned down when you try to buy them a drink at last call.

"Phil Donahue . . .suggesting the network was too quick to pull the trigger and that it might be trying to "out-fox Fox" with conservative voices."

The only time Donohue's ratings went above a 'flatline' was when he had an intelligent conservative on his show.

. . .of course it is nice to for MSNBC to reaffirm where it's heart is re our 'flag' et al. . .in so many words. . .It's the ratings stupid'. . .
