In considering abortion, the question is not when Human Life begins, but how and when it will be ended.

Just another example of one of the "tools" that law enforcement needed to fight crime being turned into an instrument of repression.

Does this mean Operation Rescue is back in business?

I believe FACE (Freedom to Access Clinic Entrances) is still in effect...

Great news nonetheless...

Believe me, I wouldn't have commented unless I was pinged. Now that I'm here, but maybe notwithstanding (the pinger) can explain for the benefit of those here who might not be as fanatic on this issue about how adament he was that the raped 9 year old Nicaraguan girl should have been forced to keep her baby, and how happy he was that an Archbishop excommunicated everybody in sight who helped her procure an abortion - even including, ostensibly, her parents.

Oh give it up, please. When you're Catholic, you can comment on excommunication. Not until.

Does this mean we can block the doors again or what?

That's what I'd like to know.

And when you are a parent, you can comment on pregnant, raped, endangered 9 year olds - not until.

That includes prelates and priests.

I can't say I disagree with this particular opinion - its pretty clear you have to obtain something - but I'm taking this opportunity to show methods, motives and agendae, particulary as the thread in question was stuck in the religion ghetto.

From the Illinois Leader a few minutes ago...

WASHINGTON D.C. -- Today, the Supreme Court announces that in NOW vs Scheidler, the court has ruled in favor of the Scheidlers. . .

From the Illinois Leader interview last July with Joe & Ann Scheidler:

What if you win?
Ann Scheidler: "Well, there could be several scenarios. Our hope would be that the Supreme Court would throw out the whole thing. The likelihood is that they?ll send it back for another trial. But they?re very likely to throw out the injunction. As far as the extortion issue is concerned, if they decide that the definition of extortion is incorrect, NOW would have to find some other crime to proceed with the case, or they might find that the jury was incorrectly instructed as to the definition of extortion, and throw out the findings of the jury, which would also mean the trial would start over."

What if you lose?
Ann: "We would be liable for the judgment, which is $257,000, plus about $100,000 in out-of-pocket attorney cost, plus whatever their attorney fees are, which would be upwards of $1 million. Since we?ve placed our home for the bond, we would lose the house, and the Pro Life Action League would have to close because we?d be bankrupted."

For more on the Scheidler case, see Spotlight on Scheidlers.

More to come. . .

Wait a second, I don't remember saying one way or the other. Honestly.

Because frankly, the situation was really abhorant. But, that that wasn't the topic. Excommunication was.

What do you say now, Poohbah? Is this a decision in favor of violence?

the raped 9 year old Nicaraguan girl should have been forced to keep her baby, and how happy he was that an Archbishop excommunicated everybody in sight who helped her procure an abortion - even including, ostensibly, her parents.

What's wrong with that? How would knowing that her baby was chopped into little pieces have helped her?
