Is "Nadia's Theme" in there somewhere? Or "Music Box Dancer"?
How about the sad closing theme to The Incredible Hulk (Bill Bixby walking down the lonely road hitchhiking).

oh yeah, the slightly etheral Donovan. They call him Mellow Yellow (quite rightly). How about the Peppermint Twist by Joey Dee and the Starlighters?
Well, we got a new dance and it goes like this
ba beba babababa beba
The name of the dance is the peppermint twist
ba beba babababa beba
and you'll like it like this, the peppermint twist

Yeah, that was one of Laura Nyro's lesser songs--and having Barbra Streisand sing it didn't help.

"Second verse, same as the first." Of course that !#%!@#% English music-hall song had more than one verse--but Peter Noone couldn't remember it at the time, and that was his workaround.

Do you remember Patty Duke doing "Please Don't Just Stand There"? How about Annette Funicello and the Beach Boys doing the theme from The Monkey's Uncle?
A whoa, whoa, whoa whoa whoa,
On the day he marries me
What a nutty family tree,
A bride, a groom, a chimpanzee...

Oh, but "Mellow Yellow" and (whatever the heck that other song was titled) were Donovan masterpieces compared with his later "Intergalactic Laxative" and "I Like My Shirt."
"Goo-goo, goo-goo Barabajagal--what's my name now?"

Johnny get angry, Johnny get mad
Give me the biggest lecture I ever had
I want a brave man
I want a caveman
Johnny show me that care, really care for me
I think it was sung by a young Gloria Steinem....hahaha. Talk about a pro abuse song!!

Oh, yeah..."D.O.A." by Bloodrock. You have to admire the harmonic structure of the song, though--it's built totally around tritones, the diabolus in musica interval that is almost always avoided, precisely to induce that uneasy feeling that the song generates.

The song I liked as a kid was "Poke Salad Annie"--it had everything that a young boy needed--grandmother-eating alligators, sound effects ("Gator got your granny (chomp, chomp chomp)"), and lyrics that lent themselves to alteration. (I always sang "There lived a girl, I swear to the world, made the alligators look clean." After all, it rhymed with "mean" and to my pre-puberty self it struck me as infinitely better than the original "tame.") So Tony Joe White, wherever you are, thank you!
