I think that was referring to the fact that he made up his bumper stickers before this situation with France developed. The situation made a market for his items. He didn't make them up as a political point.

I would prefer that meaning (but doubt that was it). I also want it to be known that we DID NOT buy the paper. It was dropped on our doorstep as a freepie. That is how they do it nowdays. They are so desparate for readers they just give it away....even at the abandoned homes in the neighborhood.

Well far be it for me to speak for everyone on FR, but those of us who are in good standing with the Curmudgeons Guild just pick one sentence and jump on it. It's our job, though sometimes we make a joke just to see if anyone here has a sense of humor ..... or humour in honour of our British friends.
