I was pleased to be with all of you today as we confronted Saddam's unwitting assistants in Raleigh. Thumbs up to all of you! Do you remember the 3 guys who showed up with the Palestinian flags in front of the monument? Really made me wish I'd had an Israeli flag to wave in their faces.
To: Kurt Nicklas
We were pleased that you were there Kurt. I didn't see the Palestinians but I did hear that the anti-war crowd had defaced some or all of the Capital monuments with peace signs. I only hope they did this with something that was easily removable.
I also saw as I was driving through town on my way home that they have stuck anti-war signs all over the lightposts and scratched peace symbols in the paint.
We didn't have as much as a single scrap of trash to pick up from our side.

You go girl! I wonder how Freepersville, NC would fare if your husband was to get the transfer you crave, back to sunny, warm in winter, Florida. You seem to be the prime mover and shaker around here, a mega asset for sure.
THe biggest problem I have to showing up at local Freeper Get togethers is, Raleigh traffic is suicidal, I don't know where to park and I can't help but wonder how freepers wives and your husband react, when they introduce you: "Honey, I'd like you to meet my kids Mom." THe devil has been prodding me to say that for a long time,... geez I'm only human.
In all sincerety, I admire and appreciate the efforts you young Conservative Patriots put in to defending and representing our side. I am there in spirit always, though so far never physically present-but I ain't dead yet.
God bless you all and your efforts in defence of truth.

MKM,
There is no reason to "hang you head"...you were wonderful. What a great group of people!!! I was proud to stand out there with every one of you. It was a privilege to have those two Marines with us from Lejune. That is the reason that many others and I were out there today...to support our troops and our President. I was genuinely pleased at the turnout and honored to stand shoulder to shoulder with each one of you.
I sincerely hope that this is one of many opportunities that I will get to stand next to you while fighting for our Conservative Beliefs.

Great report. What was the stupid sign about "rashes"? I can't remember it.
My personal favorite was the HUGE pink banner that said "Bellydancers for Peace and Freedom". Now I would have loved to get a picture of that.

Good job!
To: mykdsmom
That sign said, "Bush is a Fascist, he gives me rashes." The bad poetry was mitigated by the fact that at least she knew how to spell "fascist". So many people spell it "facist". LOL!
I still can't get over, "Lets chose peace not war" and "Dump Bush, not bombs" as if we "dump" bombs, LOL!
And what was with the guy with the tinfoil hat and his body wrapped in plastic and duct tape?
I took my pictures with black and white film, so it will take a couple of weeks to get them developed. When I get them back, I'll scan a few and post them.

Hear, hear! I was on the other side of the group from the Marines, I didn't see them. I was born and raised in and around Camp Lejeune. So many of those "other people" don't realize how their activities damage troop morale. Did you see the sign that said, "Bush is sending my brother overseas. Send Jeb instead"? They had signs that said, "Support our troops, keep them alive" or "support our troops, send them home". They don't give a sh!t about our troops and they can't support them because of what they do. The reality is our troops are trained to kill. They are trained to kill our enemies. They must think the military is all about pretty uniforms and college scholarships. They are there to kill our enemies and risk their lives to protect US interests. I accept that. But they are also trained to help civilians and protect civilians in the areas they are occupying, like in Afghanistan. That's what they do.
I would respect those other people more if they had protested against Kosovo, but did you see them around then? Noooooooo! I hated Clinton's guts, and I didn't particularly think going into Kosovo was a good idea, but I wanted our guys to kick ass and win. I was with them all the way. But for those people, it's not about handwringing over civilian deaths, it's about politics. If Clinton had taken care of Saddam (like he should have), you wouldn't see those people protesting (except for the few who are anti-war out of conviction) at all, but I would still be supporting our troops.

Thanks for the ping!
OT, I just thought of who you remind me of...did you ever see the "Invisble Man" series? The girl who played the scientist, Clair Keepley (?) bears a resemblance to you.
