I don't care what political party she belongs to either, but this thread has to get political because you can bet your sweet bippy it's because of politics this woman has the job she has in the first place. The NY City Board of Ed is nothing but political. And as an aside, the NYC Board of Ed is overwhelmingly Democrat. Not that it matters.

"I really don't care."

Sure you do, Stuart, or you wouldn't have made a point about post #5 or stayed up with the replies.

See, the analysis isn't based on what you feel by a surface reading. It comes from what you know based on life experiences and a careful reading of the details. I listed 9 items off the cuff that pointed to the most likely, but unknown, factor. That is, this woman is most likely a Democrat. This is a news discussion forum and if this story grows legs, this thread will become archival evidence for the reservoir of extraordinary corruption we all know the Democratic party to be.

Yes, you're right on a couple of points as I already mentioned. In addition, you're right that bad people can be in any party. The same case could be made for the Nazi party, the Red Guards in China or any other organization for which one might wish to create a context for defense. Nonetheless, arguing the exception doesn't disprove a general rule.

In a court of law we are held to different and more exacting standards of proof. Thankfully, this ain't no court of law, but rather, it's a court of public opinion. For my money these days, I'll take that over the opinion of a lawyer any time.

A final proof occurs to me that I overlooked before. Given the odds I discussed above, what do you suppose the odds are when a compatriot in the form of school secretary Torres physically attacks the police in her defense?

I'd say the odds just doubled.

No it doesn't matter, but since you say that it has to become political, my interest is gone, as am I.

No, I just don't care what her political affiliations are.

You're full of it. If you didn't care, you would have posted in response to something other than an assessment of her political affiliation.

"Peralta-Tessitore, who lives in the posh Westchester community of Hartsdale, has been principal of PS 192 since 1999. Last year, only 26% of her students could read well enough to pass city and state exams."

Ummmm. I dunno. PS 192 may do that to its teachers.

Bloomberg did away with the board of education. "

I know he's replacing the system with Regional Superintendents , but my point was that this woman was hired by the very political school board.

I'm still surprised he was able to make the change and I applaud him for it.

A DEMOCRATIC TREND?

Alderman Irene Smith cited for public urination

07/23/2001 08:45 PM

St. Louis police issued a citation Monday to Alderman Irene Smith related to her apparently having urinated into a waste basket during floor debate last week.

City Counselor Patti Hageman said her office would decide whether to charge Smith, D-1st Ward, with violating the city's ordinance against public urination. If a charge is filed, it will go to the city courts, where Smith once was the chief judge.

The incident took place July 17 as Smith filibustered against a redistricting bill.

The presiding officer ruled that Smith would yield the floor if she left to use a restroom. Friends of Smith surrounded her with a quilt, sheet and tablecloth as she appeared to urinate. Smith has refused to say whether she actually did.

Smith could not be reached for comment Monday. Her attorney, Anita Rivkin-Carothers, said if Smith is charged, she will plead not guilty, relying on the city's "inability to prove her guilty of any violation."

She is obviously a Republican. A Democrat would never squat so low.
