Bosnians can make a peaceful new start (in Jacksonville)
Today, between 4,000 and 6,000 refugees from Bosnia call Jacksonville home.
The numbers make Bosnians the fastest-growing nationality in Jacksonville. Bosnians account for nearly 70 percent of new refugees coming to the city.

Starting to talk about UN.
Do they have the resolve to enforce its resolutions. THIS time will they enforce what they have told Saddam to do.
Won't allow UN to fade into irrelevant debating society. Lots of applause.
I'm optimistic that free nations will show backbone and courage in the face of true threats to peace and freedom. .....our military will be fighting the oppressors of Iraq, not the people
Amercia's military fights not to conquer, but to liberate.
In case of conflict our nation is already putting plans into place - to that food and humanitarian supplies will flow to Iraqi people.
That is the charge that history has given us - it is a charge that we will keep.
Success of our cause will depend on our military. .....they live out ideals of our country. Sense of honor. Every mission given will be carried out with skill and unselfish courage.
Enterprise first deployed 1962 - to quarrentine Cuba. Pres. Kennedy understood dangers to freedom had to be dealt with decisively. We face an extraordinary challenge. Our strength as well as convictions have imposed on our nation a role in freedoms cause.
We are STILl the leader in Freedoms Cause. (sorry for sloppy puntuation)
In Freedoms Cause - WE WILL PREVAIL

He is fabulous when he's addressing the troops. You can see them being lifted up. He brings out the very, very best in them and his pride in them is so obvious.

Bush to Use Full Force on Iraq if Needed
By JENNIFER LOVEN
ASSOCIATED PRESS
MAYPORT NAVAL STATION, Fla. (AP) -
Preparing the nation for possible war in Iraq, President Bush promised Thursday the United States would "use every ounce of our power to defeat" Saddam Hussein if force is necessary to rid his country of weapons of mass destruction.
"We'll protect America and our friends and allies from these thugs," Bush, clad in a bomber jacket over his suit, shirt and tie, declared from a pier at the Mayport Naval Station here.
The White House set up the event as a display of American military might with the president surrounded by a sea of sailors in Navy caps and light blue shirts and flanked a frigate and guided missile cruiser - their decks lined with seamen standing in smart formation.
Bush pressed his case against Saddam, saying he "is not disarming, he's deceiving" as he set the stage for war.
Bush's trip to the state where his brother, Jeb Bush, is governor, had a dual purpose: preparing the country for possible war with Iraq and promoting economic policy. Earlier, Bush defended his call for $1.3 trillion in new tax cuts, telling a forum with small business owners the proposal is just the push the struggling economy needs.
During a forum with small business owners on the shop floor of a family-operated commercial printing shop here, Bush said, "We need a little further wind at the back of this economy."
Democrats who oppose the tax cuts have seized upon statements Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan made earlier this week warning against such a move. Greenspan told Congress that Bush's proposal would swell the budget deficit and said he didn't think the economy needs further stimulus.
As part of an aggressive counteroffensive, the White House departed from usual procedure and completely opened to reporters Bush's remarks to the round-table and exchanges with its hand-picked participants. The panelists were cited as examples of entrepreneurs who would see tax reductions under his plan.
"This is a realistic plan. It is a hopeful plan. It is a plan based upon sound principle. It is a plan which will work," Bush said. "But there are some who haven't gotten the message yet and they need to hear from you."
He also modified his argument slightly. Although Bush originally billed the plan as aimed almost entirely at stimulating the economy, he declared Thursday it also would provide badly needed reform to the tangled federal tax code.
"It really would make the tax code more fair," Bush said.
The two stops Thursday - only minutes and a few miles apart - allowed Bush to reassure Americans he hasn't forgotten their financial woes amid preparations for war. It was the president's first visit to a Navy base since the Persian Gulf buildup began in early January.
Some of the sailors and other Navy personnel at the Mayport Naval Air Station have just returned from the Gulf region. The base is home to the aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy, returned to port after its pilots flew missions over Afghanistan. The USS Philippine Sea, a guided missile cruiser on which Bush was to have lunch with sailors after his speech, came back to Mayport just last week, also from the Afghan theater.
The Florida visit was Bush's 13th to the political battleground since taking office.

Bush sought to reassure Americans he was working to protect them. At an economic event in Jacksonville, he said, "We have challenges abroad, particularly the challenge to keep the peace, to secure our homeland, to adjust our way of thinking to make sure we do everything we can to say with complete confidence we'll protect America."
