And they should switch too. The Mississippi Democratic Party is in decline, no doubt about it. So they might as well join the emerging majority (the state is already majority Republican at the federal level).

Interestingly, in Oregon, there's a lot of diehard conservative Republicans in the statehouse as well . . . so much so that the recent outgoing liberal Dem gov. said the state had become "ungovernable".
