My boy, our PC is meek and mild compared to the fulgent, loony labour left of the UK. Barabbas Boxer and Dianus Feinstein would be viewed as warmongers in the UK.

It is a window dressing. The hate comes from the Koran, and the believers are the carriers of that poison!

Muslim cleric ousted at mosque

Sheik Abu Hamza has been banished from the mosque

The controversial Muslim preacher Sheikh Abu Hamza has been removed from his position as an agent of Finsbury Park Mosque.

The cleric's dismissal was announced on Tuesday by the Charities Commission, which said its decision was based on Mr Hamza's consistently inflammatory remarks.

He had recently been barred from preaching at the North London Central Mosque and he inflamed public opinion this week when he spoke out about the Columbia space shuttle disaster.

The action we have taken today enables the trustees of the North London Central Mosque to govern the charity so that it can do the important work for which it was originally established

He said the crew had been punished with death by Allah because there was an Israeli - Ilan Ramon, an Indian-born Hindu - Kalpana Chawla, and Americans on board.

The Commission used its powers to remove Mr Hamza in order to protect the charity and its future administration.

It took this step because the trustees of the charity had been prevented from governing the mosque properly by the activities of Abu Hamza and his supporters.

It also found that Mr Hamza had used his position within the charity to make inappropriate political statements.

It also believes Mr Hamza had allowed other organisations to operate from the mosque and had brought the charity into disrepute.

The Commission first suspended Abu Hamza on 23 April 2002.

Since that date he has continued to operate within the charity.

Chief Charity Commissioner John Stoker said: "The action we have taken today enables the trustees of the North London Central Mosque to govern the charity so that it can do the important work for which it was originally established."

The Commission has received representations from Mr Hamza's solicitors, and says it has responded to these in full.

The old southern saying, "Rode hard and put up wet" comes to mind.

They say that a picture is worth a thousand words and that one sure is.

"Cleric", my fanny. He looks like something straight out of "Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves."

What exactly is the "Charities Commission?" Is it a British government agency or an agency of the mosque?

Hi GOP_Lady,

I wasn't sure, so I looked it up ... Here's their "about us", and a link to their site:

******Our Role

Charities are part of British life. They range from small groups meeting local needs with few resources, to the well-known major charities with budgets of millions. Whatever their size or purpose, an essential requirement of all charities is that they operate for the public benefit and independently of government or commercial interests. The Charity Commission for England and Wales is the statutory organisation that regulates charities. Our aim is "to give the public confidence in the integrity of charity".

We are not a grant-making organisation and we do not provide money, either to charities or individuals.

The Charity Commission seeks to ensure that charities operate within a framework that enables them to work effectively for the purposes for which they were set up.******
