I immediately thought of this song when the crash happened this morning. It brings back memories of Challenger and other things that happened during the 70's and 80's. I've seen the stuff inside Stretch Armstrong too.

I am familiar w that song (I listen to country music).....it was eerie listening to it earlier today because of the one line.

Its currently #1 on the country charts. I wonder what affect it will have on the song.....either it will get played on radio a lot more, or, people will ask not to play it due to its one line.

Brooks & Dunn got a lot of airplay after 9/11 w their song "Only In America"....written well before the tragedy.

The same w 19 Something..which has been out about 4 or 5 months so far

This is one of my favorite songs right now... and I'm only 16...

I did think this morning about "The space shuttle falling out of the sky" line.

If you've ever seen the movie Platoon, it's the piece used at the beginning and throughout the rest of the film. Personally, I think some darker, slow-tempo British brass music is only more fitting: slightly uplifting, yet still melancholy in its nature. A prime example would be the Grimethorpe Colliery Band playing "Aberystwyth".

What is even creepier is that I downloaded this song last night. Not knowing what would transpire this morning.

A lot of the references are not only to the 70's and 80's but there were quite a few to the 90's as well.

How recently did he do the song? Was it more of a stoic song? Or upbeat?

ConservativeMan....that is really freaky that you downloaded the song this morning.

I am sure a lot of people are kinda dazed w the news...and having heard that song recently. The big country music countdown shows are on all weekend and 19 Something will be played often

It's about the launch of the Columbia. It features audio from a liftoff and radio transmissions between the crew and ground control. Great song.
