I have to admit this whole thing has me close to crying. These people aren't just American heroes,Israeli heros, etc, etc, etc, but are heroes for all mankind,as they worked and risked their lives to expand the knowledge and reach of all of mankind. They represented what was best of us all,and were role models children everywhere could look up to. They represented courage, hard work, study, intelligence, and a bold vision too many are lacking. We are all less for their passing.

Below is the time sequentence of the Radar in that area. I cant' take it back to the time of the explosion, but that straight line is probably the debris that caused the radar images. (Link to time lapse Radar in Dallas area)

Wow, that debris field on the weather radar terminates directly over our 50 acre spread... We hear numerous booms and even what sounded like trees crashing (though it was loggers). I think I'll do some looking around.

If you would stop trying to start flame wars you wouldn't get into so many of them. I get in so many of them because I say what other people think.....look at the replies on this. You're the odd man out here.

Thank you for that radar map. That is amazing.
Barksdale Airforce Base in Shreveport will be playing a HUGE roll in the war in a few weeks.

Something you and I can agree on.Agreed. This is a time to pray for the souls of the departed and for God's tender hand on their families in their time of mourning.

<<Do you not understand that Jim Robinson said NOT to link or post from DU????
True- however, earlier in this thread, the Admin Moderator allowed it for this thread and this thread only.

"The oxidizer in the Shuttle solids is ammonium perchlorate, which forms 69.93 percent of the mixture. The fuel is a form of powdered aluminum (16 percent), with an iron oxidizer powder (0.07) as a catalyst. The binder that holds the mixture together is polybutadiene acrylic acid acrylonitrile (12.04 percent). In addition, the mixture contains an epoxy-curing agent (1.96 percent). The binder and epoxy also burn as fuel, adding thrust."That is the composition of the solid rocket boosters, which fire during takeoff and are jettisoned before orbit is reached. The shuttle uses some derivative of hydrazine, which is extremely poisonous, for in-orbit maneuvers and for reentry. When the shuttles land, the crew is kept locked inside for a moment while a chem team sniffs the outside for hydrazine leaks - the crew doesn't come out until the absence of hydrazine is verified.

Prayers for all of you.

Some DU'ers are lower than animals. I looked at a few of their comments this morning and it reminds me that not all Americans are pro-America.
Before long, they will be using this as an excuse to not finish our business with Iraq. What argument will they use to link the shuttle disaster to NOT acting on Iraq?

I was thinking that way also, but then I realized that the ground track might end due to the end of the radar range.
Any radar from New Orleans or Mississippi?
