While I am not a fan of the theory that he killed her in a rage and then covered up (I tend to think there was a plan), I must admit that the simultaneous death of the baby was surely some unintended, and regretted, "collateral damage."
The fact that he would necessarily have to also slaughter his baby SON (and we know what a son means to a man--well, a normal man), lends some credence to the "killed her in a rage" theory.

Good thought. Oh, you bet he is.

The way it was told on Greta was that she told some ladies in her sisters beauty shop about it. at least 3 to 4 people but maybe her sister wasnt' there at the time. This would explain why the cops and Laci's father immediately asked Scott if he had an affair.

Yes--and this tells us he needs to study his Clinton a little more. The proper phrase is, "I stand on my previous testimony."

Boy, you know, Doc, I feel really sorry for whoever has to do your laundry!
To: OXENinFLA
Mercifully, Scott lacks the annoying, whining twang.

Good for you, Mary! Stay "antsy," it's the funnest way to be!

I'd love to see his notes--complete with stage directions, no doubt!
You know, in light of this new Enquirer theory about the 50-gallon drum, maybe we should be wondering if Scott had access to a much bigger boat. Shades of Thomas Capano.

Yes, your first ideas about the case appear to be approaching confirmation!
About the part where she said he'd be paying alimony and child support--I could well imagine such a young wife, in the heat of an emotional argument, saying, "You'll pay for this! I'll demand alimony and child support, and you won't just be able to walk away unscathed!"
The frightening part is that she may have made him feel cornered. We know what a rat does when it's cornered!
Another thing crossed my mind. A very long time ago, in a magazine or something, I remember seeing an article title. It was something like this: "Divorce: Who Gets Custody of the Friends?" See, that's another thing that keeps some of these miserable couples together, at least for a while. They may actually enjoy each other's friends (never mind that Scott was said to be "enjoying" one of Laci's best friends), and have many couples who are friends of theirs. They might still be enjoying their life of getting together with all these friends--but not enjoying their marriage at all. So, they think, I don't want to lose the fun, I just want to lose this person I'm stuck with!
I well remember when, as a young couple, we found our friends changing from individuals to other couples. Some couples (though not us) do not even like to socialize too much with each other's single friends any more, after they get used to gatherings of couples. This very clearly leaves a person who is divorced from such a couple OUT IN THE COLD. I've seen it happen.

It had wheels, but unfortunately they were square-shaped wheels!

Just another crazy trying to attach herself to a high-profile case. They come out of the woodwork to get their 15 minutes. Is there a full moon this week?

LONGVIEW, Wash. - Longview police said Friday a report that a missing California woman was spotted in a local supermarket is unfounded.
Detectives reviewed all surveillance tapes from the Market Place from Dec. 24 through Jan. 19, The Daily News of Longview reported.
"We did not see anybody that looked like Laci Peterson," said Detective Sgt. Dan Jacobs.
Late last week, a store clerk came forward to say she remembered seeing someone who may have been Laci Peterson pass through her checkstand. The clerk said the woman was in a late stage of pregnancy and was accompanied by a man.
The clerk also claimed that the woman told her she had been kidnapped, and that she asked the clerk to call police.
In a police report, the clerk said she meant to report the incident on the day it happened, but that she became distracted and forgot.
Last week, she said, she was watching CNN when she saw a story about Laci Peterson, 27, who vanished from Modesto, Calif., on Christmas Eve.
Jacobs said he and Detective Tim Deisher watched every tape from the camera aimed at the clerk's checkstand during the hours she worked.
Jacobs said the tapes are such good quality that he could recognize people he knew, but he saw no one resembling Peterson.
